Ordering a DDE card? Know this then!

Disney Dining Experience is no longer emailing letters of authorization to new members who will be visiting WDW before their membership card arrives. Instead, DDE will fax or mail a letter of authorization to your home. If regular mail or fax isn't practical (e.g. your trip to WDW is within a few days), or if you're already at Walt Disney World, you can arrange to pick up a letter of authorization from a Guest Relations office. You will need to show a photo I.D.

This is if you can even get these people to mail you your CARD! I signed up for DDE back on January 10 of this year. I have yet to see my card! I have had to contact DDE twice, and I am still carrying around a big old, dog-eared letter at all the restaurants. The good thing is they haven't even charged me yet! Kinda funny.

Who does one call to order a DDE card?
I have finally crossed over to the dark side and decided to buy an annual pass with DVC discount even tho I will only just maybe make the break even point.

Just got my membership card for DVC in the mail, so I gather I can take it to guest services at Epcot and buy it and then order the DDE card which someone said they could fax to Epcot guest services (I think) within an hour.
I'll get the pass on the weekend...can I order the DDE on the weekend? Won't need it til Monday following tho...IF I get it.

I think 3 of us (this trip) could spend $250 on food which would pay for the card, even tho my AP and DVC card would give me @10% without the card..but only for food not alcohol and only for certain times and places, right?

Is the DDE card good for snacks too? And counter food?

You have to call the DDE office and they are only open M-F 9-5 so you will not be able to order it until Monday at 9am.

Is the DDE card good for snacks too? And counter food?

DDE is only good for table service except where table service is not available such as AK or at value resorts. Then counter service is available. It is not good at snack carts.
