Yep - DS and I decided to go during spring break yesterday. So - first thing I did was order air tickets before the price went up another $20-40. Delta very nicely gave me a confirmation number which I wrote down (thankfully) and said they would send my e-tickets via email.

this morning I checked e-mail first thing - and good old Delta sent them as promised ...... except my brand new, over-zealous computer "ate" the attachment as "unsafe"!!!

Help - it eats about 8 out of 10 attachments! It's XP, and Norton's newest. How do I tell it not to eat so many attachments?

I presume you are using Outlook Express??

If so, go to Tools, Options, Security. Make sure the box is unchecked that says 'Do not allow attachments to be saved or opened that cold potentially be a virus'. That's what you have Norton for. And MAKE sure you ALWAYS use Live Update to stay current on your definitions. They are updated at a MINIMUM every Wednesday.

Dan to the rescue! I just fixed it! My boys set up this computer.....neither one has ever set up a new computer. I've found other areas that they didn't understand.

I did set up my computer to look for life update every day, and also to look for Microsoft critical updates. Safe in those areas! Thanks for your help!

Still haven't heard back from Delta on whether or not I can go to the airport and have them print out the e-tickets for me.

You don't need paper tickets for e tickets..you will already be in the computers...it's nice to have the paper and hard to get used to not needing a "ticket" but you will be ok.

DH left ours at home once and it was no problem..gave him our names and they printed out the boarding passes.

Thanks amid chaos - I gueess just having a paper in my hand helps to solidify the fact that I'm REALLY going!

Thanks for this post, I just adjusted the setting on my Outlook Express too. Didn't even realize that this was a built in security setting. ::yes::

Same thing happened to us with Delta, my Norton Anti-Virus told me that there was a virus attached and I couldn't print the tickets.

I called Delta, and they mailed them to me, free of charge.

We really didn't need them, as we used their "self check in" system which was great! You just enter your credit card into the machine so that they can find your reservation, you click on a few buttons, and it prints your boarding passes right then and there. We never needed what Delta sent us!

Just MAKE SURE you have an anti-virus program running, ALWAYS, and UP-TO-DATE defs, ALWAYS. And yes, e-tickets are great, just an ID is good to go.

Lucky ducks - can't wait to hear about your adventures:sunny:
