Has anyone bought tickets from Orbitz and received any sort of voucher number to link them to MDE?:confused3

I'd like to buy tickets with their "Buy 3, Get 2 Free" promo but since they are picked up at the will-call window, I don't see how we would be able to book our FP+ ahead of time.

They are the same price via Undercover Tourist, but by going through eBates, I'd get a 10% rebate.

I was planning on the same but did not see the voucher small print. I'm interested to find out a way to get the tickets and still schedule FP+ in advance.

Pretty sure you can't book fp+ with Orbitz tix. You get a voucher from Orbitz which you have to redeem for your tickets so you don't really have ticket until you redeem the voucher. It's not even the same system as a regular ticket confirmation number. I've used the Orbitz tickets twice and one time the cms had no idea how to redeem them. They kept telling me it wasn't in their system. Finally they called technical help and it was because they needed to look it up different system.

I spoke with a CM from MDE a few weeks ago and asked if I could link the Orbitz tickets to MDE and she said yes- with no hesitation. There is a code on the email that you receive from Orbitz that you enter into the "link my tickets" screen on MDE. The CM said she would link the tickets for me but I had not purchased them yet. I think it would be worth a call the to the MDE tech line and see what answer you receive (we all know it could be different depending on the CM!).
I plan on purchasing the Orbitz tickets but I was holding out for double ebates so it would be 20% rebate. Our trip isn't until May so I have some time.

Last year we purchased the Orbitz tickets and had no problem redeeming the voucher for the tickets at the MK ticket window. We even added another day for $10 with no problems.

You can't just link the voucher number to MDE. Maybe tech can do it but you can't do it yourself with the app and voucher number. The voucher number goes through a different system and is not your ticket number.

I definitely could *not* link my Orbitz vouchers to MDE in order to make FP+ selections. I had to wait until Guest Svcs converted my voucher to a physical card and I used the number/ID on said card to make FP+s picks.

Right. If a CM tells you it can be linked with the voucher number, they likely don't know what the Orbitz tickets are. I had two experiences with the Orbitz tickets. First time getting a real ticket from my voucher was easy. CM obviously knew what the voucher was and I had no problem.
The second time was a mess. It took 4 CMs, a long call to Orbitz to verify my voucher numbers were correct and finally a CM calling tech support before they knew what to do with the voucher. I have a feeling the vouchers are one of those things CMs are clueless about until get one.

20% rebate? I was thinking about ordering the tickets. When do they offer the extra rebate?

I would also like to know this.

I realized after I asked. I think I know what it is. Ebates offers double rebates for certain companies on Tuesdays. So, there could be a chance that Orbitz would be one of those offered on a Tuesday. But, who knows??? I have been using Upromise more frequently. But, I am going to start looking at and following ebates to check for this promotion.

I believe the Ebates Orbitz deal doubled from 5.25% to 10.5% at various times in the past, but I haven't seen it double from the 10% rebate that it is now.

So, the 10% is probably the best there will be. But, is it a unique deal with the buy 3 get 2 or is there always a Dis tix deal on there? I never ordered from them before so I am somewhat leary - but that 10 % rebate is very enticing!

When I bought my tickets for last May Orbitz ran double ebates day and I received 20% cash back. There standard cash back is 10%.

Good to know. Wish I had seen that deal!

Interesting. :scratchin

All of the posts from last May talk about "double cash back" being 10.5%. No one ever mentioned it being as high as 20%. That would have been an insane discount and so many people would have been all over it had it been offered.

It wasn't as high as 20%. I did the deal twice last year. Both times I waited for the cashback to double so it was 10%.

Wondering if I could buy my tickets through orbitz for my June trip. Then in March when we go to Orlando for a soccer weekend, stop by guest services to exchange the vouchers, but not activate them until we go back to WDW in June. That way we can link the tix to MDE and make FP bookings. Any thoughts?

That would work perfectly. Just make sure you enter the March dates(when you want to pick up the tix)on the Orbitz website.

This is exactly what I was thinking of doing, only difference is the tickets would be used in December. But what do you mean about dates on the orbitz site? I thought you get a voucher to print out? Why do you need to enter any trip date?
