Orbitz Ticket Specials

Ok, go to ebates.com main page. Search Orbitz in the search box at the top. Select Orbitz. Then click on the large orange up to 6.5% off button search now button. (to the right of it, it mentions 3% off activities)

Yeah, I did that. But I only see flight and hotel offers. The last screenshot above.

I think you may be going to the wrong Orbitz page. Looks like you might be on Orbitz Air. You want just the plain Orbitz, which is the first one that comes up when you enter Orbitz into the ebates search bar. Then click on the big red "Shop Now" box (where it says 'up to 6.5% back).

ETA: when you get to the Orbitz page, look in the top bar (black, where the big Orbitz sign is) and you'll see a list of things. The last one is 'Activities' and that's the one you want.

I am clicking this (circled in blue.)

Then I click this.

Which takes me to this page I mentioned yesterday. It only shows those few deals, none of which are for activities.

I can click "activities" at the very top of the page. But that just seems to take me to the regular "activities" page on Orbitz. Nowhere does it mention ebates or deals that I can see. I can get the deal of buy 4-day get a 5-day. But no mention of cash back.

The stores never mention ebates at all. As long as I have followed the links from ebates, I have gotten the cash back.

Ok, when you get to the activities page (screenshot 3), look down and you will see this:

Click on Disneyland Tickets in the 'Go Play See' box on the right and you will see this:

Does that work? It won't say anything about ebates. Ebates just tracks it for you and it will be in your ebates account automatically (when you click through ebates to the Orbitz site, it should tell you something like "there's nothing further to do! Ebates has recorded your session". You will get the cash back and you'll be able to look it up in your ebates account. That's the funny part...believing that you are actually getting credit for the purchase from ebates. Just be sure to keep a record of the confirmation of purchase.

You are missing the key part on how ebates works. It doesn't matter what you purchase once you click through to the site you are shopping with. Just that you do click through ebates. If you do that, then ebates tracks the purchase and applies the discount that fits what you purchase. It may be 6% on a room only stay, 3% on an activity, 1% on other things, etc. There are not different things to click for different discounts. Any Orbitz button will work (same process for any rebate through ebates)

I'm pretty sure dates do matter. On the disneyland.com site where you purchase tickets, it says this at the bottom....

The first day of use of multi-day tickets must be on or before December 31, 2015. Multi-day tickets must be used within 13 days of first use or by January 13, 2016, whichever occurs first.

Exact dates don't really matter (until first use.) But you can't buy tickets now and use them in 2016 or beyond.

This is what I meant. If you enter the dates of 2/14/15 (for example) you are not limited to using the tickets on 2/14/15.

Ah. Since it doesn't say anything...I wasn't sure how you guys knew it was 3% cash back.

And people talked about getting 20% cash back last year. If it's not listed, how will I know if that is ever available?

I got 20% last February. It will be all over the boards :) I believe it was mid February.

I hope it's available before mid-February since our first park day is February 4th.

I checked my email from last year and I bought my tickets with the 20% discount on Feb 20th. If it's the same time frame then unfortunately it looks like you would miss that discount.

You can also go through Ebates to get 6.88% on activities from Cheaptickets. I got my tickets that way for our trip this past November. Works the same way as Orbitz (I think they are the same company.)

I wouldn't hold my breath on them repeating the 20% deal. Up to that point it had been 10% for some time, and it hasn't gotten back anywhere near that level since.

Question about the Ebates thing. I assume since Ebates just track your purchases through their link it is possible to stack rewards? Like join the Orbitz rewards and receive the Ebates as well.

AND...Disney tickets will be there regardless of when you purchase correct? As long as I have my room and airfare purchased I can sit and wait for mid February before purchasing the Disney tickets. If Ebates doesn't offer 20% back no worries I can purchase DL tickets for our March trip at that time.

LAST THING...Last year when the 20% rebate was going on was the get a free day thing active too? Just wondering if it's a one or the other kind of thing.

Now Janet- don't burst my bubble! I am not holding my breath but it sure is high on my wish list :)

Well, on the up side, I'm all set with APs here. So the way my luck goes, that means your odds of a great deal are highly increased! :lmao:

I kicked myself all summer for missing that 20% deal last year. But I just had no idea when we were going to go, and they do have you fill in dates for them. I just never could figure out if it was a problem to change those dates later. I got the 10% in 2013 but something like 3.5% last year.

So yesterday I went to ebates.com, searched Orbitz and clicked it, and then followed the instructions above to order my Disneyland tickets. No mention of cash back. I haven't gotten an email or anything saying I'm getting cash back. So I'm guessing there's no cash back for activities until you are also booking a hotel or flight.

Here are the current Orbitz deals through ebates....

6.5% Cash Back per Cruise reservation
3.0% Cash Back on Retail Hotel reservation, per Activity reservation; 1.0% Cash Back on Activities Package
1.0% Cash Back on Prepaid Hotels, Prepaid Hotel Package, Air Package, Car Package, Activities Package
$2.80 Cash Back per Car reservation
$1.80 Cash Back per Air ticket

It says "activities PACKAGE." So maybe that means I have to book hotel or something with it. Because like I said...I did everything above. Went to ebates, searched "Orbitz", clicked it. Clicked the button, it told me I didn't need to do anything else. Clicked activities, went to the Disneyland page shown above and ordered my tickets.

I bought my Target gift cards through the ebates link and also have not seen any cash back (which I think it said Target was like 2% or something). I am not sure I "get" ebates. I thought you just go there first and then click through to your website and voila- free money. But, I have made two purchases (both like two weeks ago) and I have no money in my account. I am waiting to buy my park tickets because I am worried the same thing will happen. I mean, I guess I am buying them anyway, so it doesn't hurt to try, but for three tickets, every little bit helps.

Those of you who accessed the sites properly (through Ebates) and haven't seen anything on your cash back should complete the form the have on the site. They ask for information then will find it for you. I had trouble both times I bought through ebates but found them very helpful on the back end.

If you try that and still fail, post a note on their facebook page.

Do you get cash back on every purchase (accessed through the site) no matter what it was or do you only get cash back on certain purchases? I guess that is what I am not understanding.
