Orbitz Reservation at GC - how to manage?

Hi all. Just made a four night reservation for March at the GC thru Orbitz. I have the orbitz and hotel confirmation numbers. This is our first trip to DL - after many years of going to WDW. I was able to "save" 20% thru orbitz vs. going direct (no affiliation!) otherwise I would have booked directly.

Anyway, now that I have the reservation, are there any online tools to make room requests, do online check-in, add tickets, etc. like there are at mydisneyexperience for wdw?

Also, I can't seem to find a good thread for tricks/tips at the GC like I've seen/used at WDW. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Lastly, I'm looking for a recommended sedan/suv service to/from DL and LAX. We'll have two adults and two kids with a bunch of suitcases. We'll be flying in at 9:30pm and I'm willing to splurge for a private trip. Any recommended services?

Search the Disneyland forum for "Grand Californian" and you'll see the Super Thread pop up with all kinds of tips & tricks. It's old and gets a lot less traffic than WDW resort threads of but it's still informative and you can ask GC specific q's. DL forum is a lot less active than the WDW ones where you find an entire forum dedicated to food or resorts etc. DL is so much smaller it just isn't necessary. Also in the Disneyland forum search "HydroGuy A DLR Guide" for DL info for what WDW vets heading to DL should know. And- have fun! (There will be a couple major rides down for refurb fyi but don't let that get you down because there is still tons to do!)

We booked the DLH through orbitz. There is nothing you can do online for it but you can call the hotel directly and they can help you out with everything you'll need.

There's no online checkin, and there's no mydisneyexperience, thank goodness. No adding tickets to the room. Tickets are separate. Old-school fast pass. Whew.

I booked through Orbitz for our stay, couldn't add our reservation to the Disney site like I could when booked directly last year.

The only thing I did do was email the hotel to confirm they had the Orbitz res, which they confirmed they did. No issues at all checking in, all went smoothly.

You will LOVE the hotel. I have never felt more special staying anywhere bthan I did there. Maybe that's what shelling out close to $500 a night does, you tell yourself it is special, but it really is. The employees were all great, pool was awesome, and being sooooo close to DCA can't be beat (140 steps from room to park)

Where did you find the email addresses I did GCH through orbitz and would like to confirm and by the 140 step comment I'm assuming you did GCH too

I almost always book through Orbitz for on site hotels. All you need to do is call the hotel directly to confirm reservation and add on any special requests. Just be sure to call the direct line and get to an hotel operator. Do not call the general reservation line, as that will take you to the travel company, and they can not access reservations made by a third party .

I think I may have contacted them through the generic contact page on the Disney web site. It took a few days for them to reply but they did come back and confirm they had the booking in their system. I had bookings at both PPH and GCH for our trip and they confirmed both at the same time.

Phoning could be another option if you need a quick response.
