I have a split stay booked in October. The first three nights we are staying at the poly, I just priced out the room only on orbitz and it is $500 cheaper comes out roughly to 30% less than what I paid. Has anyone else noticed Orbitz deluxe rooms are way cheaper??

I have been thinking about going in October. Of course, I have been waiting for free dining. I just checked Orbitz for my dates and CSR is $144 per night compared to $204 on the Disney site -- 20% off.

I just priced out my trip over Thanksgiving week and the first 3 nights are much cheaper than Disney, but the last 3 nights are about $30 more per night!

I noticed that when Disney is running a promotion that Orbitz gives you that rate (plus you can usually use a code for 5 or 10 % more off). The extra usually just ends up covering their fees.
Now if everyone is just seeing this that indicates to me that Disney is about to release some room only discount rates (as has been rumoured) and that Orbitz has loaded them early.

I ran the numbers for our Poly stay in October and the room cost came out only $110 less than my reservation through Disney.

However, this was interesting -

Yep- I am so conflicted as I priced out the poly and it's 35% off rack rates through orbitz. Theme park view was hugely discounted as well.

Right now Disney only has 20% off the Poly on the current offers. So we changed ours.

Yes.
We stayed at CBR for under $135 a night in April through Orbitz.
It was during Disney's spring promotion, plus Orbitz had another 15% off at the time.

Are you using a code to get the 35% discount? When I try, I'm only getting a 11% discount :confused3

When we booked ours for 11/2 to 11/9 on Orbitz, the base price + the hotel10 discount code was equal to about 35% off the disney site.

Booked 4 nights in October in a garden room at GF for $1527.30 - 35.5% off rack rate. That was using the addtl 10% off code "hotel10". We don't need dining so not being able to add it is no problem. I'd rather go through my beloved TA, and hopefully a great RO or AP will allow that - but in the meantime, I'm really happy with the discount! Thanks to all here on the DIS that help supply the pixie dust.

Glad you were able to save some $$!!!

Are these Orbitz prices only through the rest of this year? Or are these rates available for any trips in early 2014? (Our trip is in March, we haven't booked yet).

They may have sold out the rate. I just priced a TPV at GF and also showed a 36% discount. Sweet!
