Can anyone give me a review. I would like to book for our upcoming trip and need some real advice! :listen:

Have you done a search on here? There was a thread awhile back with some great reviews and pics...

We have it booked for 5/1-5/8

We stayed at Orbit One back in 2002 and it was a pretty good resort. The best things going are the location and the size of the units. They are nice and spacious with a very large eat in kitchen (well stocked cooking supplies) and a large den area all together. The master bedroom is huge and has a wonderful bathroom with a VERY LARGE garden tub and nice counter space as well. The second bedroom is average size with two twin beds and it's own bathroom that is average to good size. The 3rd floor units have cathedral ceilings which make them feel even larger still. The resort does NOT have elevators and since I use an ECV we had to take a first floor unit, which was fine. All units have a washer and dryer too. When we first checked in we were assigned a unit right along the main road. I wasn't worried about the noise really, but when we entered it was obvious it had been quite awhile since it had been refurbished. We had been spoiled with all of trades of late being into gold crowns and were highly disappointed. I went back to the front desk and told them we were not happy and meanwhile was contacting RCI on my cellphone. It only took them a moment to find us another unit which was the exact same floor plan (I was told they are all alike), but this unit was very nice and had all new furniture and flooring. You would not believe what a huge difference paint, furniture, and flooring can make. We still feel that Orbit One is not as plush as Vistana, Orange Lake or Silver Lake, but we wouldn't hesitate to stay there again and I would just insist on a unit that had been recently updated. Each unit also has a nice screen porch off the master bedroom and the den area with doors leading out from each. As for the pool area it's average, but served our purpose just fine. There is a slide (it's kind of built like a volcano), but nothing really fancy. There are basic patio table and chairs around for sitting by the pool and since it's not a huge resort, you have an easy walk to the pool from pretty much any building. Like I said the best part was the close drive (you just cross 192) taking Sherbeth Rd. and coming in near Animal Kingdom. You can be on Disney property within 2-4 minutes depending on if you get stopped by the redlight leaving the resort. If this came up for us on a trade, I would stay there again with no worries. Have fun and let me know if I can offer any other help.

Sounds like it may be a choice. Thank you for the information!!

It has been a few years since stayed but was nice little resort. Limited organized amenities that is typical of smaller resorts. Two nice pools. Location great. Would stay again.

We are planning on staying there in October, you can also view info and photos at www.islandone.com You also get access to Liki Tiki Lagoon, a water park on the sister property Liki Tiki.

We just accepted Orbit One through an RCI search for Feb. I'm glad to read pretty good reviews here as well as other sites I found in a search.

Sounds clean and spacious, even though it is an older and more quaint resort without all the bells and whistles. We were hoping that Vistana would come up, but thought we better grab a place with decent reviews if one came available.

Now to get good airfare (it's during Feb. break) and we'll be golden!

Disneysteve, or anyone, any idea how long it might take to get to Universal from Orbit One? Just won a skyauction to Orbit.

Universal? What's that? :rotfl2:

Seriously, I've never been so I can't say for sure but I'd guess about 20 minutes depending on time of day and time of year.

Yes, Universal is about 20 minutes from Disney depending on traffic and which Universal exit you take.
