I don't think that Tiki will be doing anything wrong by trading to the highest bidder. It's a rare pin and just because she posted on thie thread does not mean she has to accept the offer of the OP. MANY times someons posts on this board without knowing the value of something they have.

Private messages happen all the time. I get them often when I offer something or post that I have something. I think the people really want my attention rather than are trying to cheat. That is a strong word and probably should not be used in this context.

Someone offering more than the original poster is a far cry from the outright stealing we call cheating which happen daily in VMK. So maybe take a little softer approach.

If others wanted this pin, they should have started their own "I want the tomorrowland pin" thread below tinks thread. They could post what they are offering. To interrupt trade negotiations between two agreeable parties does seem very unfair. If you have to PM the person with the pin, perhaps you could say something like "IF your trade does not go through with "_____" , I would like to make an offer for your pin." And leave it like that. If you post everything that you want to offer for the pin then it seems that you are deliberately trying to undermine a trade in progress. If you want to post what you are willing to trade for an item, it would be better to start your own thread stating that.

I think the mods should close this thread. I don't want it to turn into a big fight about trading practices. I was very upset last night because I thought I had a trade going with Tiki and that we could negotiate a fair price. I was not happy to learn that 10 people had tried to offer for the pin while Tiki and I were negotiating especially because I started the thread and she offered to trade it to ME. I still feel that way.
