orange stinger 40 inches can ride now

My daughter has wanted to ride this for a long time but it was 48 inches or nothing.

Now they have tandem seats where you can ride if your 40 inches the down side is there are only 5 seats so the wait is a little longer.

And yes she loved it.

Oh wow! Another ride to add to our list. My 42 inch son and 40 inch daughter were just looking at the map asking if they could ride this, this, this and so on to the various icons of the rides. They got disappointed every time I looked it up and had to tell them no. So they will be thrilled to learn there is another option now. Thank you for posting!!

I don't know when you are going but the Orange Stinger is scheduled to shut down at the end of July (July 27th according to MiceChat) and be closed until April 2010. It is being re-themed the "Silly Symphony Swings".

Well, I almost got excited, but if it indeed closes down this summer to be re-themed,then I guess we won't be riding it as a family until it is "Silly Symphony Swings".

There are only 4 or 5 of the tandem swings, so it took us at least 6 rotations to get on for the 40" line. My taller kids rode by themselves several times in the 48 inch line while my youngest and I were waiting to get on. I hope that when they switch it over to Silly Symphony Swings, they add a few more of the tandem swings so the 40" line doesn't get so long.

Yep ~ DD rode the Stinger our last 2 trips. And yes it can take a while since they only have 5 or so seats for the little ones.

This seems a very strange move to me - they're shutting down the ride in a couple of months time for a significant length of time while they retheme it, yet they've made these changes now

The only thing I can think of is if they're trialling it now to decide how many tandem seats to install when they retheme it.

I think this is a good move, don't get me wrong - I just think it's a little strange to be doing it with onyl a couple of months to go before the ride closes for such a long time.

They had the tandem seats in January when I rode it then. A CM told me they were retheming it to a hurricane or tornado. I dont think most kids care about the theming. Its still swings and they love it.

So it closing the night of the 26th or will it be open to ride on the 27th?

Reason I ask is that we are flying in the 26th but won't hit the parks until the 27th. The DW REALLY wants to ride these, she loves swing type rides.
