Orange Lake which section

I don't remember the names of the sections (we stayed there 2 years ago when my DDs were 3 and 5) but...

You need a car to get around the resort anyway (it's huge!) and what worked for us was staying in one of the quieter sections near the back of the resort where we had a small pool within walking distance but avoided the noise of the main water park/pool at night when the girls were ready for bed. We drove to the main pool when they were ready to swim and play. As a plus, they had the little pool to themselves a lot in the evenings for a quick post park swim, and we never had trouble finding a place to park in front of our condo.

Each section has it's pluses! We like East and North. River Island is way crowded but all the cool pools are there.
There are pools in the other sections too. There is a smaller kids type pool between west and north I believe. We like that pool!

Heading there tomorrow!

Go to Orangelake.com and look at what each section has. You need a car to get around anywhere there unless your staying on River Island.

My younger kids like splash Lagoon better than River Island. I think it is in the East section.

Sorry, just looked on the map. Splash Lagoon is in the North Section. In the River Island section kids have to be 48 inches for the slide and they monitor strictly. If your kids aren't tall enough it can be very upsetting. At Splash Lagoon the slide is smaller and the pool itself is much more relaxed.

I would say you could request a unit within walking distance. I know there is a building right behind the slide.

Oh good, I'm glad there's actually a thread regarding this place!

We're staying here in september and I'm really curious as to how it's set up. I know we're staying in a two bedroom villa, but I was curious to know if they offer any type of transportation over to disneyworld.

I suppose I could just call them, ha. But I wondered if any of you had stayed there previously, perhaps you could answer that question.

Also, is there anything household I should bring? Are towels awful etc? We're really excited about this trip. It's the first "real" trip my husband and I have taken with our daughter and my son. Visiting inlaws don't count.

They do evidently have a shuttle...but it has limited times, and is $13-15 per person/round trip. Considering that you need a car to get around the resort (though they do have a shuttle for that too) you would probably be better served to rent a car. There was a Publix grocery store right at the entrance to the resort and countless restaurants in the area, so having a car is really a plus.
