Orange Lake Country Club

I too did not enjoy my stay. The west clubhouse is dirty and rundown. At one point, none of the stalls in the women's bathroom (by the pizza place) were usable due to urine and feces all over. When I complained the girl said "oh no not again!". My unit in the west village had recently been renovated...new paint..furniture. The bathroom fixtures had a lot of mildew inside them so that you couldn't read the h for hot or c for cold. I think what I hated most was the atmosphere created by the people..both patrons and employees. Many of the other guests were loud, rude and lacked manners. The west clubhouse had the ambience of a city subway station with people all around. The employess were clueless and often gave us false information. I too traded by week (RCI) for this place and was very upset. Read all the reviews very carefully. I would look else where if I were you.

The north village pool is much nicer. You do feel as though you are in a different resort in a way. To me, it meant I really should have stayed somewhere else!!

yes, we visited the pools before we went swimming. the crowds at the West village were over the top. we swam at North village pool.

now the outside area at west village was nice. but their sales force is still there so it is crowded most of the time.

everyone else moves their sale force to the area that they are selling in - why can't OL?

we didn't do the sales pitch because I had no desire to ride in one of those little motor devices to the new site - miles away from where you start. they should move people in cars!

However my room was very clean.

I will post pictures later this week.

I would LOVE to see pictures spiceycat. or anyone else who may have some!!

We are going to stay at Orange Lake next year. We have exchanged previously through RCI to Vistana Resort and Vistana Villages. We will be interested to see how Orange Lake compares. I have heard mainly good reviews.

We are staying in a 2 bedroom unit with 4 adults and no kids. Can anybody suggest the best area for us to request or should we just request a newer unit?

North village has the best pool complex so far..... the villas were only two story.

East village is new but far from activities and too high-rise (think 6-7 story building)

THANK YOU for your input. just one more question. So the west village has a whirlpool tub or is it just a regular bathtub that you can make into a whirlpool. I really love having my big tubs on my vacations. just wanted to clarify!
The units that I have been in the West Village have 2 regular size bathtubs with the bathtub in the main bedroom having jets. As Pat notes, in her unit it only had two regular bathtubs with neither having the jets. So in the either situation, it is a regular bathtub.

Pat;

OLCC is building a building for the sales presentation outside the resort near the entrance to the east gate with the idea of bringing them inside the resort to look at the units. This should free up some of the traffic.
