Orange Juice in "Orange" cups

I had a weird dream last night about orange juice and WDW.

When I was a kid ( mid '80's) I remember getting orange juice in a plastic spherical cup that looked just like an orange. It came with a straw that went in the top. I know we stayed at the Contemporary, so I don't know if it was a resort specific thing. Or, maybe I didn't even get this at WDW.

Does anyone else know what I am talking about?

I have a vague memory of it, too. And we used to stay in the Contemporary back in the 1980s. I also remember grape juice in a plastic cup that looked like a bunch of purple grapes. I think there was a recent post about this very thing either this month or last, but I am not sure where. I will return if I find out any more about it. Cool memory!

I remember those too. I remember them in tubs with ice, on little carts throughout the parks. I think they had orange, grape and lemon.

Funny story about those orange cups.....

I went with my parents and 3 sisters back in the late 70's. We stayed at the hotels right down the street from DTD. I believe it was a Howard Johnson's at that time. My parents booked 2 connecting rooms. Well we had accumulated quite a bit of those oranges over the week and near the end of our trip, my sister and I were out on the balcony and decided to start throwing those oranges over the balcony. I know.....that's terrible.....but at that age we thought it was hilarious. We were on the 12th floor and there was a guy that just pulled up and was loading his luggage in the car and yup...you guessed it.....we threw one down and it landed right in his trunk. I wish they would bring back those oranges.

I had forgotten all about those, until I read about the grape ones! Then it all came back to me. I used to love those, we brought them back home with us and I would drink out of them constantly!

They had apple too. We used to get these at Sea World, loved them!

I remember these too! What a great memory. I'm kind of surprised they have not broght them back. I am sure they would be a great money maker.

They had them at Disneyland, too, as I remember them but never went to WDW until last year. I too have fond memories of them.

I loved those orange cups! I remember there was a restaurant or stand that sold them in MK. I think it had the Florida Orange Bird on it's sign. He was so cute. It might have been called the Sunshine Terrace or something like that.

Absolutely, yes I loved the orange juice in the container that looked like an orange, it had a green straw and the top snapped on it, I got it at the Magic Kingdom, they were my favorite thing to have while I was there!

They were selling Orange Bird t-shirts at the Gazebo Shop near the American Adventure pavilion in May. I didn't see any other merchandise. (I was hiding from a torrential downpour, or I never would have seen them.)

I rmember those grape and orange shaped cups. I didn't get them at WDW, but I do remember getting them other places. For some reason I didn't think it was actually fruit juice in them, I was thinking it was more like Kool-Aid.

There were not specific to Disney Parks. We had them when I was a kid and I grew up in MI and didn't visit a park until 1992.
