Please check with the pharmacy because I believe T3's are tylenol. Why not buy a cold medicine without tylenol- I never buy the combination.
Second point you shouldn't need the prescription pain meds very soon. I had 3 extractions last tuesday and definately didn't need anything stronger than ibuprofen by Friday. I only took a couple of the pain meds actually because I had to drive to pick up kids etc. My gums were still tender and sore but the deep jaw pain was gone.
the amount of acetamitaphin in the percs is the problem...thats why we switched to T3's- its a lower tylenol dose. I only use them when I go to bed, so I can lay on my side- both sides of my mouth were affected, and i'm not a back sleeper.
ok your scaring me, im oing to the oral surgeom to have my bottom 2 back molar's removed (not wisdoms, but the last molars) my molars broke and I need to have the gum line cut open to get the molar out and Im going to do this in about a week or so when DH get's his tax check back. did they put you to sleep? And how painful is it really? Did they perscribe you any vicodine or something? I only ask because I had very good teeth my whole life and the first time I got pregnant, my teeth went to hell.
Oh god, the extractions were NOTHING compared to this chest cold! I was knocked out. This surgeon was pretty good- he gave me laughing gas first- then started the IV, then knocked me out. I dont remember anything from the time he said "take 5 deep breaths, in through your nose out through your mouth"...the next thing i remember, we were in the line at Wendy's drive thru getting a chocolate frosty LOL...
I was given Percetes, an antibiotic, and an oral rinse. The percs were fine until I needed cold medicine, now i'm on Tylenol with Codeines... also- the percs- one of the side effects is breathing problems- with the cold the percs did not help!
I also have disolving stiches, which are annoying but will not require me to go back to have them removed.
I've had wisdom teeth removed before, and this was better than that time. when that was done- in 1996 2 days later I looked like i got the crap beat out of me. My entire face was bruised. this time, no bruising and just slight swelling on my right side- the side the wisdom tooth he removed was on-. I did ice my face for the first 48 hours, and made sure I drank a lot of fliud, mainly ginger ale.
One thing- not sure how far your dentist is from your pharmacy, or how far your house is from the dentist- but you might want to bring some xtra strength tylenol with you to take when you come out...you do NOT want to start feeling any pain. Once that anestheia wears off, you'll know it. My doc recommends taking the tylenol if your not close to his office- this surgeon was an hour away from my house/pharmacist.
This morning I feel 90% better than i did yesterday. They also said you will feel your worst 48-72 hours after surgery- and I sure did!...Wednesday I felt on top of the world other than a small throb in my jaw...Thursday I felt like the world was laying on top of me....today i feel like i'm sorta...ummm holding the world off me?? lol
in all seriousness, its not as bad as it seems..just make sure you can lay low for at least 24 hours after the surgery. Thankfully my X took the girls tuesday and wednesday so I only had them last night after school. I dont think I could have dealt with them on Tuesday afternoon. Actually I came home from the surgeons and woke up about 1130 Tuesday night lol..
But now i'm paying for my 48 hours of doing nothing...I was sweating so bad I have probably 3 loads of towels to wash from excessive showers LOL...off to the laundry mat I go!
