Looking at a quick trip, no car rental. Can anyone provide information, advice and ballpark prices for the various ways to travel round trip MCO to a Universal hotels?
TIA
Mears charges per person. A taxi, car service (including Uber) charges per vehicle.
The number of people in your group makes a difference.
Taxi gives you the most flexibility.
edit to add: I noticed after posting you're asking about MCO to Universal not WDW to Universal. One person, Mears makes sense. Two or more, go with a car service. Rates should be the same, or a little less, then rates from MCO to WDW.
Thanks, there are two people.
Sticky seems to be WDW to Universal, I need MCO.
I thought I read that MCO was cracking down on Uber. Am I correct that Uber requires a "smart phone?"
A car service will run about $65 or so. Mears is about $32 r/t per person, $20 one way per person. Mears is probably the cheapest way to go. I don't think you have to prebook then either. Just go to level 1, down by the rental car area, and Mears is right there.
OP said he didn't want to rent a car. For the benefit of others reading this thread...I was able to rent a car one day, one way with a drop off at a hotel near Universal for around $22 (COSTCO rate) including fees. Should be under $30 with tolls and gas.
That's cheaper then a car service or taxi. Also gives you an opportunity to make shopping stop.
