Optional Smoking Rooms

Do optional smoking rooms have a strong smoke smell or does disney keep them smelling fresh? I will be smoking outside since DD will be in the room too.

Being a smoker, I get a smoking room. It always smells good to me when I enter it after mousekeeping cleans. In the morning I do enjoy a couple smokes with my coffee when getting ready for the day. The few times I've gone back to the room after breakfast, and before mousekeeping, it reeks of smoke .

Since I smoke I'm not suppose to smell it, but I sure do in a closed room. I think they deodorize the room very well, but I've read where other Diser's that don't smoke can pick up the odor in a minute.

Same here, I smoke but do not smell it when we 1st arrive. Housekeeping does a good job in my opinon of making the room smell clean. I am sure non smokers will differ.

A few years ago we stayed in a Smoking Optional room so that I could smoke on the balcony. DH is a non smoker. I felt the room smelled fine on our arrival ( I did bring scented candles in case), BUT my DH complained bitterly about the blanket smelling smokey and he would not use it.

We got placed in a smoking optional room at Pop, and we are both non smokers. I thought the room smelled awful. They try to iodize the smell, but it still reeked to us. We refused to stay in this room, it made us sick just being in the room and we eventually had them move us (it was busy, 4th of July, so it took some time to find another room).

If you are used to the smoke smell, covered up by air fresheners/iodized, it may not bother you. We thought it was awful though.
