Oprah's final shows

Is it just me or has Oprah's final shows seemed to be pumping up her OWN network?

I don't watch it everyday, but catch it fairly frequently...I've seen Shania Twain, Chaz, Julia Roberts, the Judds, and Fergie on there (or scheduled to be on there)...not saying they aren't interesting topics - but all of them have or will have shows on OWN...

I will admit that the Chaz show got me hooked to check out her channel.

I will just say I love Oprah.

Well OWN has been DOWN on ratings, she fired the the Head person and she is trying to vamp it up with Exposing it more on her show to get ratings and her Ultimately to make more $$$. Shes smart.
I am not sure why OWN has not gotten the "umph: that her show now does, its actually interesting to me....not sure if it is lack of marketing or if people can't find the station, shows or if people are somehow watching Less tv with the change of season...more people going out rather than sitting in???
I know here Oprah ratings were sagging, though perhaps with the "end near" they are back up. She was asked to take over the soaps, and as a smart businesswoman she came right out and said, the ratings are DOWN, there is no $$ there and she would not consider it.

Interesting to see what happens with OWN, I guess time will tell.

That is interesting. I mean I have watched Oprah since the beginning in college and the last few yrs I have not tuned in.

She needs a hook to get people to her channel. I saw Rosie on there and I put that on my DVR to tape so I can check it out. Rosie is too off putting for most people though.

Her line up of celebs to boost her channel is just not "there" yet imo.

Wow! AnOprah love fest!!! She's clearly one of the best promoters in the world. I can not fault her for that.

Frankly, I've never particularly liked the woman and after her stupid move to have that dog murdered Vicks on her show, she's dead to me.

I heard on the radio someone mention how she always turns interviews to be about her so I started listening for that and sure enough she does talk about herself a lot.

Also heard the last guests were going to be Will and Jada Smith (along with others probably...)

One thing that has always annoyed me about Oprah is when she has experts on her show and then she spends the time interrupting them and giving her "expert" opinion. Let the person talk for crying out loud!

With that being said I do like watching her show and I'll miss being able to see it everyday.

I personally can't stand that woman. And I have to ask, but is it just me or have her last shows been going on FOREVER. I thought she was long gone. I will be glad when she is.

I agree that Oprah's show is all about promoting OWN. That said, I watched the DOC about Chaz and it was excellent. I really liked that it had very few commercials and there was nothing Oprah about it.
