I think the men are crying over the candles & sweaters, because they know they finally have a nice gift to give to a woman that won't land them in the dog house this year.

They might even get rewarded for their gifts.
She came to Ft. Campbell, KY in 2004 for the "world's biggest baby shower." I know several people that went and they paid almost 4k in taxes for the goodies. A few of those people actually ended up selling some of the things to help offset the costs of the taxes.
That must have been before the show when she gave everyone a car. She got thoroughly bashed because the audience was a special audience full of school teachers. She was rewarding them for doing great work, while being so underpaid. Then they had to pay the taxes on the car. Many of them couldn't afford it.
Personally, I have always thought some of the stuff she gives, while fabulous, I would be grateful, yet turn around and sell some of it. I would sell the car for a less expensive one and use the rest of the money for something else.
This season, I'd sell the earrings. (I don't have pierced ears.) The Ralph Lauren cashmere sweater, because although she claims that shade looks great on everyone, it's too brown and
any brown or tan shade makes me look dreadful.
I'd also sell these:
Flannel Tory Tote ($250) and Reva Ballerina Flat ($195) by Tory Burch
Oprah hair stylist Andre Walker’s shampoo and hair kit ($65)
Lafco House candle set ($55 each)
Breville panini press from Williams-Sonoma ($100)
Kyocera ceramic knife ($75)
Baker’s Edge brownie and lasangne pans/Ghiradelli brownie mix
“Decoded” by Jay-Z
And, believe it or not, I'd sell the cruise tickets. Did people not see the news report last week of that cruise that was stuck out at sea with no food? No WAY would I want to be stuck on a ship. I thought being stuck on one where everyone got the flu or diarrhea and passed it around was bad. But that cruise was way worse.
I have to say that that cruise ship has to be one of the ugliest things I have ever seen.
Well, you don't see the outside of it once you are
on it.
I can't wait to see what she gives for Day two.
