Oprah's Favorite Things

I agree, this "Favorite Things" was nice but it seemed off kilter.
I think Oprah is just not feeling well. Near the end she looked like she was going to cry to me. I think that is why she was hugging Josh so much.

When was this taped? Before or after her school incident?

I think it was pretty recently taped. We just had an article in our paper about how much money Macon spent to get the auditorium ready for the show. I believe it was taped within the last week or so.We are only 2 hours away and I sure do wish I had known she was going to be in Macon.

Even though I used to live in Macon (I'm an hour away now) there was no way I was gonna watch that irritating show. Every 10 seconds they are screaming! Makes me want to pull my hair out.

Oh and they taped a few days ago - either Friday or Saturday.

It was taped last Saturday evening. She flew in the day or two before, went to some local restuarants, and maybe sightseeing. Maybe that's why she was so rushed and off...but I do agree with the pp, all that screaming was getting on my nerves.

The screaming and crying does get annoying to watch but I suffer through it to see what she's giving away and I'd absolutely suffer through it in person if it meant I'd get $7,500 worth of free stuff!

I remember watching one in H.S. and loving the stuff she gave out. I think what made those early shows was as a PP said her excitement AND ACTUAL USE of the product. The makeup products, the CDs, the clothing etc. These were things she had found and come to love so she felt the need to share them. Now it seems to have morphed into oneupmanship each year.

You know I was thinking it seemed like the list this year was of the things she could get for free- not really her "favorites" Like is she really going ga ga over scrabble? What is that universal thing? I am assuming a bunch of movies? But for $800 maybe I am wrong.

I dunno, I think I would like the scrabble game more than anything else on her list (with the exception of the camcorder or the fridge!)

Not Allie.....When they announced she was coming, you had to go apply with a blurb and if you were picked you got a ticket for yourself and one for a guest. I read that 4000 ppl applied and 300 tickets were given out.

Yeah, it was more like - This year's favorite things, sponsored by Williams Sonoma and LG. I'd bet money Oprah doesn't have the fridge. I know that thing wouldn't fit in my kitchen. I wonder how many recipients had that problem.

Thanks I missed the first 5 minutes and I didn't get to see how the contestants were picked. She just said, "her top Macon Georgia viewers"
