Maybe a family member did it thinking "what a great surprise it would be having Oprah show up at her wedding" and the bride and groom had no idea it was going on.
I agree the wedding isn't all about the bride per se....but it is a big step and an imprtant one in a woman's life and that is why people say it is her day. I know in my case my DH did absolutely NONE of the planning, he was basically told where and when to show up, he did not care one bit about the whole day, except for getting married. He would have been happy to go to a bar for pizza, wings and beer after the church. I wanted the big she-bang, I knew I was only doing it once and I wanted it done up nice. He told me right from the start to just do what I wanted and let him know what was going on, but I shouldn't espect him to do any of the running around cause that wasn't going to happen.
