I know that "last minute" is NOT the way to use your DVC.

So at 5 today I called MS. Booked a studio at Jambo Savannah view for next Monday, Tuesday and Wed nights. (Have to go to Florida due to a family "crisis" That does NOT mean I have to stay with the family!)

I actually had CHOICES. SSR and BWV standard were avaiable. I originally picked BWV and while we were talking the first night "disappered" so I went with my second choice (whch had almost been my first so no big deal!)

:banana::woohoo::dance3:

Wow, 3 different resorts had availability?

Yeah and yesterday it was a night here and a night there.... Maybe the "Flu" scared everyone into staying home. :rotfl2:(I am willing to risk it!)

Congratulations, enjoy your stay.

I don't always like to stay with family, everyone needs their space, especially in a crisis. I do hope things get straightened out.

Thanks

(It's only a "crisis" in the mind of my stepmother. Nothing major as usual, but I "lost" the coin toss. Plus I could get away next week and my brother couldn't)

I have always had good luck adding nights at the last minute, because I am never ready to leave:goodvibes

DVC is a great place to weather a crisis if you must. :goodvibes

I am trying to be really good and not call and book a last minute trip myself. The kids are out of school because of the flu scare and all I want to do is call DVC and go for a few days.

Hope you find time for a little relaxation at AKV:surfweb:

:rotfl2:

Have a great trip. Take lots of pictures for us!!!

Thanks

I thought rooms were turned over to CRO within 30 days? So then there must always be some available within 30 days to book with points?

Well, I got the "let me put you on hold"

My "theory" (which has NO facts behind it) is that IF CRO can't sell the room DVC can "grab" it back. Generally this seems to happen if it's just a few days prior to the reservation request.

Now it doesn't always work. And if CRO sold the room then you are out of luck!

Well, that is good to know. We have a reservation beginning Sunday May 10 for AKV concierge and are coming in the day before. I was unable to get any AKV studio for that Saturday night. But maybe if I call now something will have opened up. It'd be much more convenient than the room I had to book at the AllStar Sports.

Have a great trip!

First and foremost, congrats on your reservation, and I hope you have a great trip!!! I would definitely take my chances on the flu, too. :woohoo: Also, best of luck resolving your family crisis.

As for turning inventory over to CRO at 30 days out, who gets the reservation if a DVC member and a non-DVC member call at the same time? Is it just a matter of which rep hits the enter key more quickly, or would it go to the cash reservation since the points had already been turned over to CRO? Just curious, as I had never thought about that before. :confused3

Hey, there's a DIS meet on Monday, at AKV no less!!! Bet it's the real reason you booked a trip, right?

Oops, wrong week. Sorry!
