We postponed our trip from last week to next year. Any preference in these dates?
February 1-15 or February 22-March 8??
I appreciate your help!

President’s Day 2022 is on Feb 21. From what I understand, schools in the Orlando area have the entire week off, making Disney a very busy week. Although nothing is certain in Pandemic times, it seems to be the case even this week that Presidents week is busy.

so if you have your options, first 2 weeks of February is probably better. But... if you want to see both festival of the arts and flowers and garden festivals at Epcot, go with the later dates :)

I am full of opinions, Paulaparm.

The one thing that hits me right off is the different rates you'll likely pay. Your first choice of an all-February stay will have lower rates than the second option. I do a price summary in this thread below (see post #21). Note those are for 2021 dates and include tax:

Your 2022 dates won't line up exactly with when rates change in the 2021 file but it's a useful directional planning tool. Disney typically keeps the same pricing patterns and when rates change but they sometimes do make changes to when rates kick in or carve out new "micro" rate periods (we saw that for Halloween time not long ago). We don't know the 2022 rack rates yet officially but, again, this is a directional tool.

Other considerations:
- ride refurbs usually occur sometimes after the holiday Christmas/New Year/Marathon season so some rides might be unavailable before the spring break time in March rolls around.
- expect more crowds for the President's day weekend in February and also around the Princess Marathon dates that same month (usually falls in the 2nd half of the month).
- I would look at when Ash Wednesday falls in 2022. Southern Louisiana takes the whole week off for Mardi Gras week from school and lots of those locals come to WDW for a stay.
- weather is nice in both windows - obviously a little cooler in the first but still nice generally speaking

That's all I got off the top of my head. I would go with the first window all other things being equal.

EDIT - folks can book packages now for 2022 (out to the 500 day window) meaning the 2022 rates are official so what you see in the on-line reservation tool is what you will pay for both windows.

I agree with Ed. Easter is late next year (which means Ash Wednesday is as well), as is President's Day (as Ed noted). If choosing between the two you are considering, I would look at the first option. Your second option hits President's Day week and Ash Wednesday week. The first avoids both.

Thanks so much for your input! We have decided to go with Jan 31-Feb 13. Then we will head over to the Daytona 500 for a week. (We were supposed to do it this year, but Covid )
We are actually taking a quick trip to FL next week to get away from the cold and snow. 4 nights at Cocoa Beach, then 3 nights at POP then 4 nights in New Smyrna Beach. Hopefully we will make it over to Fort Wilderness and have a look around :)
