My son received a huge dose of pixie dust today from a CM that we talked with while at WDW in August. I really want her to get some recognition for doing this (she really would have had to gone out of her way to get this done) and I was wondering if a phone call, an e-mail, or snail mail would be the best way to inform the higher ups of her.

TIA

I would send a letter. From what I've read on other posts, those letters may be posted for the CMs to read. Plus, I think it says more when someone takes the time to write a letter and put it in the mail. Emails and phone calls are just so easy. (Not that those aren't nice as well!)

Definitely send a letter. Letters that are actually written and mailed in are placed in the CM's employment file. They sometimes get special recognition for it as well. Phone calls and emails are rarely noted the way a snail mail letter is.

Emails work but letters have that extra impact. If you are still at the parks, you can also stop by guest services and fill out a special form they have for cases like this. This may be the fastest way to recognize the CM since it won't take as long to reach her supervisor.

Could you share your "pixie dust moment" with us? We all enjoy reading those experiences.

On the last day of our trip (Sept 4, 2006) we were at MGM on our way to RNR (it's the last ride of every trip :thumbsup2 ). My DS13 has been trying to collect all the pins in a Snow White set that's quite a few years old so he was looking at every CMs lanyard looking for the last pin he needed (it was Doc). We ran into Rose Marie on our way to RNR. She told us to stop by at the store she was working in when we were done with our ride as she had a box of old pins and she would look through them for us.

So on our way out we stopped by the store and she came out and apologized that she could not find the pin, but gave my DS another pin (no trade involved, just gave it to him :wizard: ) and took his name and address in case she ever came across the Doc pin he wanted.

Today my DS received a package with her name on the return address. In it was a nice note stating that she had been working a pin event at EPCOT and had the whole team looking for this pin. Not only was Doc attached to the card but so was the Grumpy pin from the same set! :cool1: I really felt that this was above and beyond any CMs job and I have to say I got a little teary eyed knowing that even two weeks after our trip she remembered my DS and how much he wanted that pin.

We had filled out a form before we left MGM that day just thanking her for even taking the time to look for the pin, but I feel that this deserves another letter because I really don't think the CMs get all the recognition that they deserve. Three cheers for the CMs!!! :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

(Does anyone have the snail mail address?? Thanks!)

That was very cool. I would write a letter. It is things like that that make it so special.

That was very nice of her!

You can send the letter to

Letters really do make an impact. We sent one and even received a thank you call for it!

Wow! that was really nice of her. It's so nice to hear about good customer service these days.

Absolutely send a letter.

CM's do get recognition for letters received.

Plus it gives a little pixie dust to them for a change. pixiedust:

I couldn't agree more. The letter is all set to go out in the mail tomorrow.

This is just another example I can give when people ask "You're going to Disney again??"
