Normally, We stay at the BWV's which is great when we are at Epcot after Illuminations. While most people are making a mad dash for the front of the park, we can calmly head to the back. This stay we will be at SSR, and I was wondering if it would be better while at Epcot to go back to the boardwalk and then take a bus to Dowtown Disney after Illuminations and then just walk over to SSR. Thanks for chiming in.

We thought about htis also. I think we are going to head out to BVC and catcha bus to SSR after we walk around the resort a bit

Be careful, I do not think that there are any resort to resort busses. You could get a DTD bus from any of the Epcot resorts and walk to SSR but it will be night.

I am not sure how late the boat from DTD to SSR runs though. That would be a option once you get to DTD.

I think that would be better than walking to the front of Epcot and getting the SSR bus there with all of the masses.

We like to watch Illuminations from the France area, and I think we're going to give your idea a try when we stay in OKW, if the boat is running of course.

We usually take our time walking to the front entrance of Epcot, and by the time we actually get to the bus stop, the masses have left, and we usually score a seat on the bus.

Just as a warning, and maybe it has improved.... The one bus from BWV that always seems to take the longest to arrive is the DTD bus. We were staying at BWV last June and decided to take the bus to DTD for dinner, we waited about 45 minutes, the CM that is stationed at the bus stop kept saying it would be coming soon. We finally gave up and drove our car.

Others may have better experience with the BWV to DTD bus than we did (I hope so!!).

If staying for Illum. we drive & start to work our way out...before, it's over.

Worth it to us to be on our way back to resort while the masses are streaming out, especially since we normally do early entry days.

Good luck.

That's exactly what we do, we REALLY "take our time". By the time we get to the bus stop, there's virtually no line and plently of room on the bus. You know, I think we get back to OKW only slightly later than those who shuffled out with everyone else as fast as they could go, then stood packed in like sardines on the buses.

Is the walking path between SSR & Downtown Disney lighted? If not, you'd be safer taking the bus to SSR from Downtown Disney. Waiting for two buses could make the trip even longer than if you just took your time leaving EPCOT and caught the SSR bus. Of course, if you'd like to spend some time at the Boardwalk or at DD/PI before you returned to SSR, that wouldn't matter much. :teeth:

Best wishes -

I'm not sure, but I'm sure someone knows. As for some of the other responses, Thank you for all your input. I'm an early riser (Normally 5:00 AM) so I will not want to wait until everyone has cleared out before heading back. Even on vacation, or weekends it is hard to re-adjust my body clock.

Yes, my wife and I walk it most everyday during the day and there are plenty of light posts around. The path is just a short thing that gets you right into the SSR proper almost immediately unlike the path through the golf course etc to OKW from West Side.

Yes it is no problem walking to SSR to DTD. We did it twice in one night's stay last year.

Whilst staying at the Grosvenor Hotel a few year's ago we walked to Yacht club from Epcot and got the DTD bus and walked to our hotel.

Have a great time.

Even with the crowds, it's still better to catch your direct resort bus. Just take your time getting there.

never understood the rush to leave :lmao: i agree with the poster who mentioned the BWV bus to DTD. last summer it took forever.
