Am heading to WDW for a 10-day solo trip. Have decided to upgrade from the free dining plan to the deluxe dining plan. These are the restaurants I was thinking about making ADR's at. Alot, either I have never been to before or have not been in a very long time. What do you think? Any of these you would skip? Any must dine's?

Tusker House - have not been since rehab. Is this better for breakfast or lunch?
50's Primetime Cafe - this is a must for me on every trip.
Brown Derby (lunch) - have not been in a very long time.
Akershus (breakfast) - never been
Chef's de France (lunch) - never been (not sure about this one)
Le Cellier (dinner) - must dine for me
Rose & Crown (dinner) - must dine for me
Tokyo Dining (lunch) - never been (not sure about this one)
Cindy's Royal (Breakfast) - never been
Crystal Palace (breakfast & dinner) - must for me
Liberty Tree Tavern (lunch) - on the fence with this one
Boma (breakfast) - never been
Cape May Cafe (breakfast) - never been
Beaches & Cream - got to have the No Way Jose sundae with Mint Chocolate Chip ice cream
Spoodles (dinner) - on the fence with this one
California Grill - have not been in a long time
Chef Mickey's (breakfast) - have not been in a long time
Hoop-Dee-Doo - have not been in a long time
1900 Park Fare (dinner) - have not been in a long time
Narcoossee's (dinner) - never been
Kona (breakfast) - have not been in a long time
O'Hana (breakfast) - never been
Whispering Canyon Cafe (lunch) - have not been in a long time
Yachtsman Steakhouse (dinner) - have not been in a long time

Looks like you have a great variety. A couple of your chooses I've not been to, but you have some of my very favorites in there. We LOVE Narcoosee's!!! The food is very good and so is the service, atmosphere and location.

Boma, California Grill, Spoodles (I can't believe we're losing that one!) and Le Cellier are all must do restaurants for us. Have a great time!!! :goodvibes

We did the DDP last year - WOW. Good to do once. We did alot of signature dinners. We ate at California Grill and it was just so,so. I would recommend Narcoosee's instead.

Spoodles is supposed to be closing-I'm not sure when this is going to happen though. Your restaurant choices sound great-Happy Eating!!!:cutie:

50's Primetime Cafe - this is a must for me on every trip. We love this place, the fried chicken is awesome!

Akershus (breakfast) - never been Been here twice, both times the food was very good! Tons of pics in my January link

Chef's de France (lunch) - never been (not sure about this one) Have been for dinner and really enjoyed it!

Le Cellier (dinner) - must dine for me Been here three times and every time the food is terrific! Just went back in March after not dining here in 2 years and I realized what we were missing!

Crystal Palace (breakfast & dinner) - must for me Love Love Love breakfast (tons of pics in my January link) but think we will skip dinner here from now on, the food is just too darn salty

Boma (breakfast) - never been OMIGOD you will love this place! My fave breakfast spot in all of WDW, tons of pics in my October link

Cape May Cafe (breakfast) - never been Same as above, this place is great! Tons of pics in my October link

Beaches & Cream - got to have the No Way Jose sundae with Mint Chocolate Chip ice cream Very good food but peanut butter with mint ice cream???? That is a combo I would not think of :rotfl:

Spoodles (dinner) - on the fence with this one I would go since they are going to be changing the restaurant to a completely different type of place. We really enjoyed our dinner at Spoodles.

Chef Mickey's (breakfast) - have not been in a long time We ate here last month (tons of pics in my March link) and it now replaces DH's fave Cape May...the food was very good and we had a nice table by the window with a view of Bay Lake...it was alot quieter than I thought it would be.

1900 Park Fare (dinner) - have not been in a long time HORRIBLE! We went in January (tons of pics in my link) and had to wait and hour past our ressie time, the server was MIA the entire meal and the food was so salty it was inedible. No way would I give this place a second try

Kona (breakfast) - have not been in a long time SOOO good! The fruit plate and the eggs benedict are the best! And that pressed pot coffee is out of this world

O'Hana (breakfast) - never been DH and I did this in August and we loved it! The fresh baked pineapple sweet rolls and cinnamon rolls were awesome! Plus you can order the pressed pot coffee here too!

Yachtsman Steakhouse (dinner) - have not been in a long time We went last April, had not been here for many years. DH did not like it at all, his ribeye was waaayyy undercooked and so much fat he couldnt cut it. I on the other hand loved my filet and the lobster bisque is super duper rich but yummy! The best part is the onion pull apart rolls with roasted garlic and butter, oh boy I could just eat those and be very happy

Tusker House - have not been since rehab. Is this better for breakfast or lunch? I tried lunch and it was great. Server was so friendly. Food selection and quality were good. Plus, I timed our lunch so that they offered us reserved seating at the Finding Nemo show. The lines were unbelievably long for that show, and I just strolled right into the theater and had a seat in the front! Next time, I am going for breakfast, though. The characters at Donald's Safari Breakfast are favorites of mine!

50's Primetime Cafe - this is a must for me on every trip. It's been a long time since I have dined at the Primetime Cafe, but I am looking forward to going again soon. The theme is a hoot!

Brown Derby (lunch) - have not been in a very long time. It's definitely one of the better meals in Disney Studios. In 2003, we had a Ahi Tuna Cobb Salad that was the best salad I have ever eaten. Our meal last December wasn't as good. In fact, I liked Mama Melrose's a little better.

Akershus (breakfast) - never been Me either, but it's a must do on our next trip!

Chef's de France (lunch) - never been (not sure about this one) Over the years, I have had good dinners here. Our last trip, my steak was over-cooked, but everything else tasted great. If you are visiting Disney this summer, the audio-animatronic Remy makes this a fun choice. We are going in August for just that reason!

Le Cellier (dinner) - must dine for me Never been, but it's on my list for August!

Rose & Crown (dinner) - must dine for me We love this one, too!

Tokyo Dining (lunch) - never been (not sure about this one) We didn't like it last December. Definitely avoid the sushi. I love sushi, and this sushi didn't taste good to me. Everything else was lackluster. The tempura had no flavor. I will not try this restaurant again for a while.

Cindy's Royal (Breakfast) - never been We had lunch here in December, and it was fabulous. The experience was everything I have always imagined dining in the castle would be. And Major Domo's Pie was oustanding!

Crystal Palace (breakfast & dinner) - must for me We had a bad breakfast here right before the restaurant switched over to lunch, but I think it must have been a fluke, because everyone else raves about this place.

Liberty Tree Tavern (lunch) - on the fence with this one It's a nice environment if you need a table service in the Magic Kingdom, but I would not make a special trip for the food. It's just okay. I would head over to one of the monorail resorts instead. We love Grand Floridian Cafe and really want to try The Wave.

Boma (breakfast) - never been You will love it. It's wonderful.

Cape May Cafe (breakfast) - never been Me either, but it sure does get great reviews. We are going to try it next time.

Beaches & Cream - got to have the No Way Jose sundae with Mint Chocolate
Chip ice cream Never tried this one either. We will have to add it to our list, too.

Spoodles (dinner) - on the fence with this one I agree with a previous poster. I would try it, because we never have dined here. This would be our last chance. But if something else caught our eye, I wouldn't be too upset about letting this one go.

California Grill - have not been in a long time In 2003, it was wonderful--truly stellar. But that was a while ago, so I do not have any recent information about California Grill.

Chef Mickey's (breakfast) - have not been in a long time We went recently and loved it! It was a great breakfast, and we bought the picture package. The photograper was really good!

Hoop-Dee-Doo - have not been in a long time We love this one. I would pay out of pocket for the better seats, though. I think it really does make a difference.

1900 Park Fare (dinner) - have not been in a long time I hear the stepsisters are hilarious, so it's on our list for August. We had breakfast here in December and loved it!

Narcoossee's (dinner) - never been We love this restaurant, but we do not go here often. We keep trying new things instead of returning, which may be a mistake on our part. Last trip we tried Citricos, and I liked Narcoossee's much better.

Kona (breakfast) - have not been in a long time We love breakfast here, too. We did have a bad lunch here in December. The food tasted off for some reason.

O'Hana (breakfast) - never been One of our most favorite breakfast experiences ever. It's a must do now for us!

Whispering Canyon Cafe (lunch) - have not been in a long time We usually do breakfast here, because the western omelet is good enough to make a special trip. When we stayed at the resort in 2006, we had lunch here and thought it was fabulous, too. Although, I cannot comment on the all-you-can-eat skillet, because no one in my party ordered that. We like the a la carte items better.

Yachtsman Steakhouse (dinner) - have not been in a long time Never been here, but we hear good things.

You may want to consider Wolfgang Puck's Cafe in Downtown Disney. We have had superb meals here in August 2006 and December 2008. The food has been perfect.

Also, we like Coral Reef when we are on the Dining Plan. The ambience is really special and the food is good. Only negatives are high prices and small portions, but that's not a factor on the Dining Plan.

And the menu at The Wave looks really, really good. I think I would go there over the Liberty Tree Tavern.

I hope this information is helpful. You have made excellent selections! Have a wonderful trip!!! :dance3:

Looks great!! I hope you do a dining review lol!!!

Brown Derby ---> Went for dinner in August and the food was wonderful, although our server wasn't good.
Akershus ---> Went for lunch in August. Good princess interaction, good veggie pasta and desserts. Cold buffet was kind of weird.
Chef's de France---> Just made a lunch ADR for next month! I've only been to dinner and it was really nice.
Crystal Palace ---> I tried breakfast last month and fell in love!! So good! Our server, Kyle, was fantastic.
Boma ---> Good. I just don't eat enough to get my money's worth.
Spoodles---> I had an OK dinner here about 5 years ago so I won't be much help.
1900 Park Fare ---> did dinner in August and probably wouldn't go back. Food selection was bad but characters were amazing (which is probably why they have them there since no one was going for the food!!)
Kona---> Yummy breakfast!
Whispering Canyon Cafe---> Gross dinner (veggie enchilada)

Tusker House - have not been since rehab. Is this better for breakfast or lunch? - We love this place for lunch.
50's Primetime Cafe - this is a must for me on every trip. - We really like this place a lot. Good, old-fashioned comfort food.
Brown Derby (lunch) - have not been in a very long time. - This was one of our favorite meals of our last trip.
Akershus (breakfast) - never been - We had a good time here and the food was excellent!
Chef's de France (lunch) - never been (not sure about this one) - We really liked this one when we went in January. Food and service were both excellent.
Le Cellier (dinner) - must dine for me - A must for a lot of people. Next time I promise to get a piece of meat.
Rose & Crown (dinner) - must dine for me - My favorite place right now. I can't even say enough good things about this place.
Tokyo Dining (lunch) - never been (not sure about this one) - If you like sushi and Japanese food, you will like this. Ask to see if you can get a place by the window, and watch everyone walk by downstairs while you are enjoying your lunch.
Chef Mickey's (breakfast) - have not been in a long time - This is one of those we do at least once a year.
O'Hana (breakfast) - never been - We had such a blast at this one.

I really think you have a great selection. A lot of places I have been wanting to go to myself.

Spoodles was our favorite meal in February! Absolutely cannot miss for us! We're beyond disapointed it's closing! My DH LOVED the steak kabobs.

1900 - did not realize the food was that bad. I did want to go to meet the stepmother & sisters, but am now wondering if it's even worth it.

I've only had breakfast at 1900 Park Fare and thought the food was wonderful. I'd go just for the strawberry soup, and they have that at dinner too. :)

Your choices sound amazing, Terk. I can't comment much on them because we tend to do mostly dinners.

I hope you have a fantastic trip. pixiedust:

I'm hoping to do more breakfasts & dinners and just a few lunches.

I'm wondering if dinner is better than breakfast at Cape May Cafe. That prime rib looks great!!!

My favorite items at Cape May Cafe are the barbequed ribs, NE clam chowder, and the dessert spread.

There's a window in the front of the restaurant that's separate from the rest of the buffet, and it's filled with tiny desserts--little fruit tarts, key lime pies, lemon squares, tiny squares of carrot and German chocolate cake, etc. I'd go there just to eat that.

Out of all of your fantastic picks, I will only review the ones I have eaten at:

Akershus - Breakfast. We ate breakfast in our villa every day but one. That day we ate at Akershus Princess Breakfast. It was FAN FLIPPIN TASTIC!! It made me rethink eating breakfast in the villa for our next trip! I can't wait to eat there again.

Chefs - We had dinner our first night there and it was PERFECT

Ohanas - Only did dinner, but it was great! Fireworks after on the beach:lovestruc

HoopDeDoo - Never Again.

Have a blast!
