Depends on where you are on the island and who your provider is. I generally get okay service from T-Mobile on Castaway. I've had a little less luck with it on Lookout (but I've only been there twice).

Last time I was at both islands I used a Bahamas eSIM. Worked perfectly at CC. LC had poor signal in most places.

You will likely incur international roaming charges since the islands are in the Bahamas. If anything, you will definitely NOT receive a signal from US based carriers (of course T-Satellite is available). You may get a signal from Aliv or BTC, the major carriers of the Bahamas, especially along Disney Lookout Cay.

I have AT&T and have made phone calls multiple times from Castaway. The call quality has always been good and the data speeds were fine, although noticably slower than at home.

Funny thing with Verizon was earlier this year at Castaway I got charged for Travelpass that day but it wouldn't work for text or calls or data. I forgot all about that until I read your post. I meant to try and get refunded but....

I was able to connect to Verizon TravelPass from Lighthouse Point last November. But I didn't try calling anyone. Got email. Surfed the web. I was NOT able to connect on the Azores (which is part of Portugal) however.

In the upper lefthand corner you will see "BTC" which is the phone, internet, wireless company for the Bahamas. So clearly, I was able to get cell service. BUT I hooked in with Verizon. Have no idea what a phone call would cost. Their website is btcbahamas . com.

I used Verizon Travelpass at Castaway & Lookout without any issues. Travelpass in the Bahamas is $12/day. I didn’t call anyone. Just data and texting.

I used Verizon Travelpass in the Bahamas. Had no problems on the ship or Castway. Haven't been to Lookout yet, first visit there will be in February. I didn't make any phone calls though just text and data. I had full bars in most places, except a few areas of the ship, so I don't think I would have had any trouble making a phone call.

Depends on your carrier and plan when I had Verizon Travel Pass was included in my plan and we now have Spectrum and it's also included. As was posted some pay $12,00 per day others have $10.00/day flat rate which includes calls text and limited data.

We just went to Castaway Cay and we had our phone set up for Wi-fi calling and we're able to make phone calls just fine using the ships Wi-fi paid plan. I know a lot of people say they cannot get a signal out there but we had a signal on the family beach.
