It will be my dh, two dd's ages 12 and 6, and me: We are staying at BC and we are on the DDP.

Monday: Dinner Cape May
Tuesday: Dinner Mama Melrose's
Wednesday: Dinner Captain's Grill
Thursday: Dinner Chef Mickey's
Friday: Breakfast Askershus and Dinner Teppan Edo

Pretty good? Any recommended changes? I have tried to do a variety. Thanks! :yay:

The only place we haven't eaten at is Cape May Clam Bake (love the character breakfast there) however, I have read many many reviews on it and it seems that everyone really likes the dinner. As for the rest of your ADRs, I think you did just fine. The only one that I would not do, but this is just personal preference, is Chef Mickey's. We ate there for both dinner and breakfast and was really disappointed with both. I am guessing that your CM day is going to be your MK day? If that is the case I would suggest going to Whispering Canyon Cafe at WL (fun antics and good BBQ), Crystal Palace in MK (character meal with Pooh and friends), Kona Cafe at the Poly, or O'hana's at the Poly (never ate here, but everyone seems to really like it). Hope this helps and have a great trip.

Monday: Dinner Cape May :thumbsup2
Tuesday: Dinner Mama Melrose's I would replace this one, maybe with 50's prime time cafe for in park or Kona Cafe at the Poly. Mama Melrose's does not get good reviews.
Wednesday: Dinner Captain's Grill (never heard of it, unless you mean Captain Jacks, and I have never tried it.)
Thursday: Dinner Chef Mickey's Lots of fun!!:thumbsup2
Friday: Breakfast Askershus and Dinner Teppan Edo Both sound good. We are actually trying Teppan Edo for the first time this May and I am excited. It gets good reviews too. :thumbsup2

I hope you have a great trip!!:wizard:

The only one we haven't tried is Teppan Edo.

We really like all the others. In fact, Mama Melrose's is a must do for our family! We tried the Captain's Grill last summer and thought it was really nice.

Have a great trip!

We personally don't do Teppan Edo because we can get better hibachi 5 minutes from our house. We've never had a problem with MM, and never ate at Captain's Grill. We'll be trying the clam bake for the first time in May!

Sounds good with 2 dds. Captain's Grill is going to be our 'first try' next trip. The menu sounds great. Just remember that every restaurant will have some saying it's the best ever and some one else that says it's the pits. Opinions are generally worth what you pay for them- nothing. except mine, of course.:lmao:

I think you did a great job!

Monday: Dinner Cape May
Went there for the 1st time in October and everyone LOVED it!

Tuesday: Dinner Mama Melrose's
Never been, but have wanted to try it

Wednesday: Dinner Captain's Grill
Never been

Thursday: Dinner Chef Mickey's
LOVE Chef Mickey's for dinner (but not for breakfast). We were one of the first people to be seated and the food was delicious! I don't understand why it gets such bad reviews. Character interaction was great and we all had a blast!

Friday: Breakfast Askershus and Dinner Teppan Edo
Never been to Askershus, but Teppan Edo is very entertaining and fun!

I haven't been to Chef Mickey's since our kids were little, but I recall we enjoyed it. We liked Mama Melrose very much. Had a very nice lunch at Captain's Grill in December. We'll be trying the Cape May clambake in March.

I'm just curious, do you have enough ADRs? If you're on the Deluxe Dining Plan you get 3 TS per day.

We've never done Cape May or Mama Melrose.

We really enjoyed Captain's Grill, it is such a hidden gem - you seldom see reviews and it is an easier ADR to get, but the food is very good and the service is attentive.

I wasn't impressed with Chef Mickey's for dinner. The character interaction was pretty good, but the food was just so-so and the service was terrible. We had the amazing disappearing server, which I'm sure colored my opinion of the whole night.

Akershus is another one that I thought was just okay in the food department, but the character interaction was some of the best we've had. We liked it much better than CRT, better value and the cold buffet was just wonderful for me because I don't care for most traditional/American breakfast foods. I like that you've got the essential characters, both classics and princesses, covered with your character meal plans. We do the same thing and it saves so much time in character lines in the parks!

Teppan Edo was great on both our visits there. DS loves hibachi restaurants, and while TE isn't the singular best one we've ever been to the food was quite good and the chef put on a really fun show.

DDP = Disney Dining Plan, in other words the basic plan. The acronym is a little confusing now because of the other options, but it predates the introduction of the deluxe plan and has stuck. The deluxe plan is generally abbreviated as DxDDP or DxDP.

Sorry for the confusion ...I have the regular dining plan..6 nights. :)

Monday: Dinner Cape May Love this place for dinner and breakfast
Tuesday: Dinner Mama Melrose's Have always enjoyed our meals here

Thursday: Dinner Chef Mickey'sdefinitely prefer breakfast (our dinner last time was not very good and we felt very rushed
Friday: Breakfast Askershus and Dinner Teppan EdoHave not done breakfast at Askershus (only lunch which we didn't like); have not done Teppan Edo

I have read great reviews lately for Captain's Grill. I would change Chef Mickey's to breakfast if you can.

I've eaten at almost all of the restaurants at WDW at one time. I firmly believe there are no bad restaurants at WDW. They're all good. It comes down to opinions and what type of food and atmosphere you enjoy. Look at the menu's for the places you have chosen and decide if they have what your party likes.

With young kids character buffets are always a hit but food while good is not the best value compared to other places.

It is my opinion that the restaurants at Epcot and Polynesian are among the best unless you are willing to pay the higher prices at the Signature restaurants such as Narcosees, Jiko, Victoria & Alberts, Citricos etc.
