Which is your preference for a character breakfast? Is Mickey at Cape May? Which do you prefer and why? Thanks in advance.

I've been to both and have liked both. I don't think you could go wrong with either one.

With that being said, I think I prefer Cape May Cafe. At Chef Mickey's they're in regular attire and at Cape May the characters are in beachwear which I like because it's different. Also, it's a bit quieter than Chef Mickey's since it's not as popular.

I can tell you that Mickey is definitely not at Cape May Cafe. I just booked Cape May Cafe for our trip and the woman on the phone told me the characters are Minnie, Donald, Goofy, Chip and Dale. However, I think that's a mistake since I'm pretty sure Chip and Dale are no longer there.

DH and I have been to both, and both are good, but I think I would choose Cape May Cafe. It's a smaller restaurant and is quieter than CM and we seemed to get more character attention there since it was less crowded. When we were there, they covered the tables in paper and gave you crayons to draw. We had some great "conversations" with the characters and Minnie even stopped to draw some pictures with DH. It was great!

Well it used to be Cape May (tons of pics in my Oct link) but we just did Chef Mickeys in March (tons of pics in my March link) and we prefer that one because the food is awesome and there are 5 characters there instead of 3 like Cape May.

Dont get me wrong, we love Cape May too....I guess it depends on where we stay as to which one we go to. In June we will be at the CR so we will do Chefs again and in Oct we will be at the BWI so we will do Cape

Yes, I heard that Donald is now there instead of Chip and Dale. :donald:

We haven't been to Cape May, but have been to Chef Mickey's a few times and enjoyed it each time. Cape May would probably be easier to get reservations for, though.

I have only been to CM...we love it there!!! It's my favorite place for breakfast.

We've been to both and they're different experiences. Chef Mickey's has more characters and is more of a rowdy atmosphere with the dancing and napkin waving. It's a great place for a first time character breakfast (especially if you're traveling with kids, IMO).
Cape May, on the other hand, is a more of a relaxed breakfast with equally good interaction with the characters. We had breakfast at Cape May in March and it was just Minnie, Donald, and Goofy (Though Goofy and Donald stopped by our table twice each!)
Definitely go with Chef Mickey if you want to see the big guy, but you'll have fun at either breakfast.:goodvibes

Ha! I was going to post this same question! Glad to read everyone's responses.

I didn't realize there was no Mickey at Cape May!
