My family and I will be going back "home" for 10 days in July. :woohoo: We've usually stayed at Pop or All Star Sports, but are looking for something a little different and have set our sites on WL. Any opinions? Positive and negative feedback is welcomed!:thanks:

I love the WL - but even with an AP discount it was a little more than I wanted to pay - but it is BEAUTIFUL. I don't think it would be a mistake if money is no object. :woohoo:

We throughly enjoyed our stay at the Wilderness Lodge in 2004. Even though the rooms were a tad small and selection at Roaring Forks was limited, it was a great choice!

WL is our favorite hotel. We could sit in the lobby for hours and look at the decor. The pool is lovely and the boat to MK can be a nice change from the buses. Last Fall when we needed to stay just one night before a cruise, we picked WL even though it made our departure plan slightly more complicated. (WL is not one of the usual pre-cruise resorts.)

Have a great trip.

Does the boat from WL go to the TTC or directly to MK?

The boat goes directly to the MK. We stayed at the WL Dec 1999 and absolutely loved it. It's really a gorgeous place, and a peaceful one too. The only thing we didn't like a whole lot were the size of the rooms. They are a bit on the small side. Although for us: Mom, Dad and 5yr old daughter, it was just fine. We were REALLY glad we stayed there! :goodvibes

Our last 5 or so trips have been to the WL, in my opinion, the best of the MK resorts for the money. Our most visited parks is the MK and taking the boat or bus there is quick and easy. Great themed resort, loggy is fantastic and the price is right, value season with pin code, $225.00.

We enjoy the pool in the heat of the day, resort never seems crowded when we stay, nice walk to FW or a boat, by far it seems you're in the thick of the magic but serene and quiet too. Just remember, once you stay its hard to go back anywhere else.

We love WL but I will warn you the theme can be a love/hate thing with many folks. If you're not open to woodsy, dark wood, stone type accomadations WL may be hard for you to enjoy. You're right that it is totally different than Pop or All stars.
I love having a balcony with or without a great view, it's just a perfect way to end the day and I think your kids will love the lobby and pool areas.

WL and AKL are the same price. We love AKL and are trying WL for the first time. I would pick a theme that appeals to your little ones. If AKL could hold 5 in the room we would be staying there this trip but they did away with the deluxe rooms. I can give a comparison in a few weeks. Have fun!!!

WL is one of the best themed resorts at Disney. You and your family will fall in love with it the minute you walk through the lobby doors.

That's where we are planning on staying for our magical gathering in '09. We will have two little girls and maybe a couple of boys, not everyone is committed to definite attendance yet, and we want to do the hayride, pony rides, campfires, barbeque and HDDR! I can't wait!

The WL is a great place to stay, actually our favorite. But with three kids, we outgrew it. The rooms are the smallest of the deluxe resorts. However the themeing is great. You feel as if you are miles from anything yet right there next to MK. Transportation is above average IMO. Taking the boats to MK is nice. There are also activities each afternoon for the kids, so make sure to hit those a few times while there. If you have any specific questions, please ask or hop over to the WL FAQ thread.

Just wanted to make sure you realize these are at Fort Wilderness, not Wilderness Lodge.:)
