My DH and I have finally narrowed our list down to the restaurants we want to visit while in WDW this September. Neither of us have ever been to any of these places and while I have checked out the menus on allears, I would love some opinions from those who have actually been there.

Le Cellier

CRT- not sure if we want to do breakfast or dinner but will make that choice by this weekend since I can make PS's as early as Sunday

50's Prime Time Cafe

San Angel Inn

'Ohana (dinner)

Boatwrights since we're staying at POR thought we'd give it a try.

Thanks in advance :flower:

lecellier is very good! boatwright's serves one of the best breakfasts onsite. enjoyable. cindy's is a good breakfast; it is served plated, but is all you can eat. do consider the "healthy option of yogurt/granola." i asked just for sliced banana~no problem. prime-time--i am glad we ate there, but it is not on my must do list for every trip. ohana and san angel inn we did not care for these restaurants, but there are many who have these as a must do. enjoy! :earboy2:

Well we're going to try Le Cellier, Ohanas and CRT for the first time this trip so I'm no help there. We have eaten at Boatwrights and it was really good, nice atmosphere. I love Primetime! We loved the crazy "cousins" and the food was really good, big portions. We are only going back to a couple of the same restaurants this time but Primetime is definitely a repeat for us. The fried chicken..... :cloud9:

Le Cellier - great choice. One of our favorites. Excellent food and a really nice break from the hot parks. Great value if you're on the dining plan, and even if not, still a great value.

CRT breakfast - no clue since we never go to CRT for breakfast (not with 2 boys) but dinner fare is good. The portions are pretty big and the food is actually quite good.

50's Prime Time - comfort food with some fun tossed in. The onion rings are great, the pot roast is excellent.

'Ohana - ahhh... one of my favorites... what can I say... atmosphere+food+wishes=heaven!

Boatwrights - can't comment. Haven't tried it yet.

ETA: San Angel Inn - the atmosphere was great but the food wasn't. The only disappointing meal for me the entire trip.

Le Cellier is a must do every trip for my group!! My boys, 12 and 15, love the steak here.

CRT we really enjoyed this one but its been a while, I loved the stuffed french toast.

Ohana, it was okay, alot of people rave about this one and we only went once several years ago and just weren't blown away. The appetizers were really good but I found the meat to be a bit dry, the pineapple was very good but for their price of $26 I will go elsewhere- like LeCellier.

We however love 50's Priemtime. The fried chicken is wonderful and the theming is a hoot. Ask for cousin Richard if you want someone really in character.

We haven't tried San Angel Inn, one it gets pretty bad reviews from almost everyone, one of the few constants,a nd the menu doesn't blow me away.

Out of those that you mentioned we only went to 50's Primetime.
My whole family (10 of us) enjoyed it. I had the pot roast but was a little too fatty for my taste. The atmosphere and food overall was very enjoyable.

We were just at Disney the end of May.

CRT - Breakfast - The food was wonderful and the atmosphere A+. We weren't rushed and the princess interaction was great.

50's Prime Time - Great atmosphere and the food was really good too! The portions were just right also.

O'hana - The food was good, the meat wasn't dry at all. The shrimp I found to be a bit spicy for my liking and messy as they are peel and eat.

Enjoy!

I can speak for a few of these:

Le Cellier - We thought it was very good. Had dinner here and everyone enjoyed it. Especially enjoyed the breads with dipping sauces and the Cheddar Cheese Soup.

San Angel Inn - I love this place. The atmosphere is one of the best at Disney, I love the dark twilight feel of the Mexico Pavillion. The food is also always very good and this is a must do for us every trip.

Boatwrights - We dined here for the first time last trip. We were staying at POFQ and walked over one night for dinner unplanned. It was one of our best meals of the trip. Personally, I was shocked with how good it was as alot of moderate resort full service resturants are not. The cornbread was fantastic and the portion sizes were huge.

The only one we've been to is 50's Prime Time. We love trying new places everytime we go, but this is the one restaurant we have to visit everytime we're there because we love it so much. The food is good, but it's really all about the atmosphere. I love how it's themed like a 50's kitchen, with all those old TV shows playing on the TV's. And of course the aunts, uncles, cousins, etc. make it so much more fun!

Le Cellier - Very good steak. Good stop for dinner in Epcot.

50's Prime Time - Good food, stuff like meatloaf and pot roast. Fun atmosphere, a good place to get lunch while at MGM.

Boatwright's - Excellent breakfast. Haven't eaten there for lunch or dinner

O'Hana's - One of my favorites. I usually eat here every trip. If you decide to go here make sure you go hungry.

San Angel Inn - Haven't eaten there in years. If I'm in the mood for mexican I usually stop and the counter-service restaurant just outside the pavillion.

Great question as I've been wondering about most of these same places! I'm especially curious about O'hanas....what is the big deal; what am I missing? It looks like it's just a bunch of meats on a skewer, is that correct? I am looking to go in and be able to order entrees of the menu, but is that not how it's done? Is it a set dinner each night with no choices? Is it good for kids? We're STAYING at the Poly so it seems I should try it but it doesn't seem like a 'normal' restaurant to me. Someone clue me in, please!! :o)

Thanks so much for all the replies and your opinions. I think for the most part DH and I made some pretty good choices. San Angel Inn was DH's choice but with looking at the menu, it doesn't seem all that appealing to me. I'm willing to give it a try though so I think we'll stick with these restaurants and definitely add a few more that look good.

Okay, I just read the menu for Ohanas again....are there side dishes? All I see are the appetizers and then skewered meat selections, desserts, and drinks. Do you get potatoes or veggies?

Le Cellier- One of the best. I'm surprised how they've been able to keep the quality up even though they're so popular.

CRT- If you're into the princess thing than you must go to this place at least once. Personally, I think it's over-rated.

50's Prime Time - Can be lots of fun, if you don't mind being picked on by a CM in jest. Food is safe and tasty.

San Angel - It's really dark in this place. Romantic but hard to read menu at times. Food is so-so but it is a lovely spot.

"Ohana - Lots of fun and lots of food. Nothing daring about the food but it is tasty. Do you like hula hoops?

Boatwrights- IMHO, one of the most under-rated spots at WDW. Food and service is consistently good and prices are bearable.

I *think* that you get some kind of veggie (green beans??) but I'm not 100% positive. Having never eaten dinner there I'm going from memory of someone telling me that or reading it someplace.

[/B]Katems This is what I just found on allears about the starters at 'Ohana.

Stir Fried Green Beans and Onions
Salad with Honey Lime Dressing
Shrimp and Vegetable Wonton
Honey Coriander Chicken Wings
Stir-Fried Rice

Le Cellier - Eaten there several times. Wonderful food. Always a great meal.

50's Prime Time - Eaten there several times. The kids love it. Nothing better than seeing mom or dad forced to clean their plate! Food is good. Love the S'Mores!

San Angel Inn - The atmosphere is great. The food is okay. They have one particular appetizer, can't remember the name of it, that is AWESOME. It has lots of cheese and chorizo. It comes with a couple tortillas to wrap the cheesy mixture in. We normally order two or three of this appetizer to serve as dinner.

'Ohana - DH's hands-down favorite. I am not much of a meat eater so I am not so crazy about it. I do enjoy the appetizer platter though. I LOVE the caramel sauce...I pass on the pineapple and eat it with a spoon!

Le Cellier - We love it!!! We eat there almost every single trip. The food is excellent. Great salmon, steaks, cheese soup, salads and beer selection. The service has been excellent every time.

CRT- We've done the character breakfast but it was a long time ago. Thoroughly enjoyed it. It's a real treat and a great way to start your day.

50's Prime Time Cafe - Lots of fun! It's a hoot and the food is pretty good, nothing real special. I love the dessert - SMORES. Yummy.

San Angel Inn - Good, but not great. The atmosphere is very romantic and relaxing. The food was just, good, nothing special.

'Ohana (dinner) - Fantastic. Great food, fun atmosphere, decent price. Excellent service.

Boatwrights - We had dinner there several years ago and we though it was excellent. We were quite surprised. A friend of ours was staying there so that's the only reason we went. Delicious. I had steak which was excellent and I think my DH had fried chicken. He went bezerk over it. Great service.

Good choices - have fun.

I really agree with the posts about Boatwrights. This place is really under rated! We ate there in May and the food and service were both outstanding. The portions were HUGE! Our entire family of 5 could have had a meal off of my BBQ rib dinner alone! GREAT PLACE! :cool1:
