Opinions on Portobello?

We just had a wonderful dinner there last Friday. I had a seafood pasta dish...YUM and my husband had an Italian steak...YUM. We both had a salad and bruchetta (sp?). Very tastey.

Went there once a couple years ago. Restaurant was very nicely appointed (I liked the murals on the ceiling). Food was pretty good Italian (better than Alfredo's, not as good as Palio, imo). Service (especially the wine service) was only fair. Have not been back, as there are plenty of other places where I would rather spend my food dollars at WDW.

We like it a lot. Their thin crust pizza is superb! :Pinkbounc

My family and I have been there 3X and have loved it every time, the entire experience was wonderful (albeit pricy) my DS12 loves the calamari and when making our PS for this Oct. he begged me to get us at least one meal there. No problem son, no problem at all. One tip, we always go early or late, the crowds make things like service a little less MAGICal. Hope this helps.

Queenk333-thx for the info. My ds13 also adores calamari and can eat the entire large appetizer portion at Alfredo's by himself! And, he is only 90 lbs soakin wet!!!! We have often thought about Portabello.

Thanks so much!

We changed our PS from Fulton's to Portobello.

Sounds good and is something new for us.

Thanks!

Oh, is this Disney owned or a chain? Just curious...

I think it's part of the Levy chain--at any rate, not Disney owned.

Been there a few times... always satisfied with the meal

We ate there for the first time in Sept. 2003 and just loved it. We are planning on eating there again in Dec.

As usual, Uncleromulus is in the know; Portobello is a Levy restaurant. By the way, I recommend the portobello mushroom appetizer with polenta and the rack of lamb. This is the best rack of lamb I've ever had.

We love Portobello's. We have been going there for the last 5 years - every year. Last year my husband and I took a universal trip and ended up going to Portobello's by ourselves. I have a son that just loves steak. He believes that Portobello's has the best steak bar none out of any place we have been.
Just our opinion.................You will love it..........

YES!

I was on a lamb kick last year and ordered it at PYC & V&A's during the week. While V&A's was excellent, PYC's lamb chops were GLORIOUS. Great calimari also, and I'm not usually a fan.

I'd enjoyed PYC twice before, but tend to try new restaurants on our infrequent trips south. Once we move to FL, I'd guess PYC will be on our regular rotation.

Denise < --- still has to try Shula's lamb ;)

hi, i love lamb chops but never ordered rack of lamb out. how many lamb chops did you get with the rack? is the rack usually shared by 2 people, or can i order it by myself without looking like a piggy? (my husband won't touch lamb) thanks

This is definately a must do, this is the first thing we do when we check in to our hotel. The food is absolutely wonderful and my wife and I think this is one of the best restaurants in all of WDW.

we went there in june. i thought that the food was good.

but way over priced. :( i have had much better italian food at much better prices.

Hey Shan! :wave2:

I went to Portobello's once, albeit about 4 years ago, and the food and service were SO good, I complimented the manager! I NEVER DO THAT. You will really enjoy it!
