Hi,

Please can you give me your opinions on my choice of ADR's for our upcoming trip. Can you bear in mind that although we obviously want to enjoy the food, our primary concern is keeping our DS4 happy (as if he's happy we stand a better chance of enjoying our meal!!:rolleyes1 )

thanks alot!!:thumbsup2

Breakfasts
Crystal Palace
Chef Mickey
O'Hana's

Lunch
Sci Fi Diner
Garden Grill or Coral Reef
Alices Tea Party (With my friends DD7)

Dinner
Whispering Canyon
O'Hana's
Chef Mickey

Any good???

I would suggest you avoid Chef Mickey even thought the characters are great I find that the food quality is really bad and there are better character meals / regular restaurants out there

I would go with Garden Grill rather than Coral Reef. Chef Mickey's is a breakfast tradition on our last day. The character interaction is great. We are not big fans of the Sci-Fi. We were there once and won't go back. We just didn't like the food. But it is a great atmosphere for your son. We've only been to Ohana for dinner. We liked the old menu a lot better but I would still go for the experience. We've never eaten breakfast there but when we walk by everyone looks to be having so much fun. Whispering Canyon is a lot of fun. We've always sat in the main dining area. Last year we were put in a small room in the back. We had fun but not as much if we were in the main dining area. Make sure you ask to sit there. Crystal Palace was great. The food was average but it's a must do for us. We love the character interaction.

thats great - thanks especially for the tip about the main dining room at WCC - i'll definitely try to remember that!!:thumbsup2

I think your choices are great, especially to keep your little one entertained & happy! ;) Yet you might want to think about giving up one of your ADRs for Chef Mickeys-one time during a trip is plently. If it were me, I would keep the B-fast and skip the Dinner. JMHO, though! Have a wonderful adventure! :thumbsup2

I like your choices.

O'hana is my favorite place for dinner. I think Chef Mickey's is really fun, although I do agree with the OP about only going there once. I think your son will really enjoy Sci-Fi.

We are planning to take our first trip to the Coral Reef in December and I am really looking forward to it even though it gets a lot of mixed reviews here on the Dis.

You have made some really great choices- I know your son will have a great time.

Okay we just did Disney with our 4 year old DD so I understand about keeping a 4 year old happy.....LOL

Crystal Palace was one of dd's favourite, the character interaction was great and they do a little parade in the restaurant. And the food was also very good, it was our favourite breakfast. Your ds should love it.:thumbsup2
We did Chef Mickey for dinner and the food was one of the worst of the week but teh character interaction was great and dd loved it. I am right now booking ressies for our April trip and I just booked Chef Mickey for breakfast b/c I have heard that the food is better for breakfast then dinner so I would keep that one, especially for the character interaction.;)
Ohana's for breakfast was fun for dd. The food was just okay but she didn't notice. The characters were great and Stitch tried to drink my coffee and to this day dd talks about that almost everyday.....so cute. Definately keep that!:woohoo:

We only did cs lunches when we went but we did do Coral Reef for dinner and the food was excellent and dd loved that aquarium wall.:cheer2:

Whispering Canyon we comepltely disliked, I am not one that likes getting yelled at, I didn't find that fun at all and there was nothing to amuse dd there. I will never go back to that one again!:sad2:
Ohana for dinner was good, I woould suggest get a late ressie so you can catch wishes, its a great view. Food was just good, dd really enjoyed the dessert, yummy!!!!
Chef Mickey - well I already told you above we didn't like the food but character interaction was good. But if you are already doing it for breakfast I would suggest you go elsewhere.

I hope that helps and enjoy:love:

I might try and swap out Sci-Fi for Prime Time. Much better food plus great fun and theming.

We have done CHef Mickey's for dinner and it was one of our worst ever in 22 trips. The carving stations were nice but other than that not impressive. We also did not care for Sci-fi. We like the food at 50's prime cafe better and a better variety we think at least.

The best thing I can say is pick your places and don't second guess yourself. We all have opinions and they will all be so different. One person's passion is another person's potion.

Have a fun trip

I respectfully disagree...at least in my experience the food was good. and I'm a bit of a food snob so to speak...some of the other buffets were just ok for me...but Chef Mickey's was good.

Great choices, we're doing most of them next month too. :)

haven't done Sci Fi and there's some mixed review on the place.
