We are thinking of trying this one on our next visit - myself, DW and MIL (kids will be with KNO that evening)

Looking for pros/cons from people who have lunched or dined there

thanks

we dined here for part of CP last year, 02. we really enjoyed it and would return in a heartbeat! very good!!

Funny, my husband and I ate there 11 yrs ago on our honeymoon and it was so bad we still remember it. I'd be interested to here what people think now.

My wife and I ate there two years ago in August. I was very disappointed with the service and food. Our waiter barely knew we were there.

I felt very "cramped" as well... Disney likes to get as many people in a restaraunt as possible. If that means sitting right next to complete strangers, that is what they'll do. Some people don't mind this and some people do.

It was a very beautiful restaraunt, however.

My wife said it wasn't here favorite, but she would go back. I would only go back if my wife really wanted to.

However, everyone has their varying opinions! Good luck!

Our family ate there on our last visit. We all really enjoyed it. I had the Fettechini Alfredo and it was excellent. The only thing I would like to mention is the Anti-pasta salad. Our family is use to an anti-pasta salad that has lettuce, salami, ham and cheese in it. The anti-pasta there had not one leaf of lettuce in it. It was a plate full of cheese and meats, most of which my family had never heard of and most did not want to attempt to try. I ordered the Ceasar Salad which was very good.

Sorry, can't recommend this restaurant. Service is spotty at best and the food quality consistently poor. The dishes are not close to being authentic and often tepid. Have given it several chances but will not be returning here until there has been a change in executive chefs. Preferably one who knows how to prepare good Venetian food, or at least reasonably authentic Italian food from other regions!

My DH and I almost didn't go to this resturant because of the reviews, but I LOVE Italian food and Italian resturants tend to have the BEST dessert, so we went for lunch. We didn't have an appetizer, instead having drinks (I had the Bellini - EXCELLANT) and ordering lunch right away. I had the chicken ceaser salad and DH had the Fettachini Alferodo (which was to die for). For dessert we split a triple mouse thing which was also good. Our waiter wasn't the most attentive, but he was acceptable and the building itself is gorgous. We'd go back - for sure.

BTW - anti pasta is normally not a salad but a meat and cheese plate in most Italian resturants.

Love it! Love it! Love it!

Definately go..the food and service are wonderful. Great atmosphere!

We had put off going to this restaurant because of all the so-so reviews on this board. We were very sorry we had waited so long to try it...Alfredo's is now one of our new favorites at WDW!

Inconsistency has always been the problem with this restaurant. There are times when it's very good, but there are times when it's equally bad. As long as you understand that, go and enjoy. :)

Shellybaxter said the magic word that might get me back into the restaurant. Bellini. I had seen Malto Mario make one on his show with fresh white peach juice and Asti. It looked fabulous. I got to try one on the Disney cruise when we went to the adults only restaurant Palo's and loved it.

Ok, I'm convinced. I'll give it another shot.

We've eaten there 3 times and enjoyed it each time. I wouldn't say that it was wonderful....but it was good. My DS loves fettuchine alfredo and enjoyed his meal tremendously. The service was attentive and the building is beautiful. We also enjoyed the strolling musicians. GIve it a try.

We had a bad meal here about 4 years ago. On subsequent trips we avoided it but on our last trip we decided that it might have changed and I believe in giving a restaurant a 2nd shot. Plus, we LOVE Italian food. This time the service was better than the last but we were seated in the main dining room which was cramped and very noisy. The food was mediocre at best. But you never know...you might try it and love it. Things can change. Just giving my honest opinion though.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: I'd rather gnaw my own leg off than eat at Alfredo's.

Hehehehehe!!!! But how do you really feel?

We ate there earlier this month. I'd definitely not recommend doing the Candlelight Processional dinner package there. As for the restaurant itself..........

Crowded, loud, obnoxious and often inattentive wait staff, portions on the smallish side.........................might make you think I'd say stay away from this place, but I won't. While we aren't itching to get back there, I haven't ruled it out either. That to me is the ultimate test of a restaurant. It wasn't terrible, it was pretty average. A little high priced for average, but I might go again.

While there are a lot of things you have to accept or get past with this restaurant, the interior is beautiful and the food was pretty good on our visit. All those negatives above are just part of the atmosphere. Some might call it annoying while others might call it charm.

The fettuchini alfredo was excellent and I have made the recipe a couple times in the past month. Yum!

We ate there last week on Christmas Eve. We didn't have a PS, so I wasn't sure if we could get in or not. We showed up at twenty minutes after noon and we got in with just a 5 minute wait.

The food was good, and the service was 'OK' (but we were there at a busy time).

We would go again.

Does L'Originale set up outdoor seating on the piazza? If so, I'd stop by for a bellini too...:)

Sorry, but my DH and I did not care for it. We ended up doing it a few weeks ago, kinda by accident.

We were there on the 10th and doing the CP. Well, originally we had the CP at 5:45 and a 7:10 PS at Le Cellier. Well the show was cancelled due to rain and we were pretty starving then and since there was no refund on the CP dining package, the only thing available was Alfredo's. The food was not that great and we were really bummed out that we paid that much $ and should have just had a little snack and kept our orginal PS. Oh well, live and learn.

We had never been there before, but are in no hurry at all to come back. Sounds like its hit or miss though.

Good luck!

LOL. Loved your post. It was "charm" when we sat in one of the side dining rooms but "loud" in the main one. As far as obnoxious waiters, have you ever had one literally THROW your dinner mints on the table as he passed at the end of the evening? It was so wild. Our first trip there and we were all rested, in good moods, kids not making a peep, I'm in Italy (or as close as I'll get in a long while), not long of a wait to be seated (side section) and then we wait, and wait, and wait. Ok, cool, kids are fine, let's check the wine list. Let's order a glass, see if we like it and if we do buy a bottle. Hey we're on vacation (and not driving). I notice the table next to us. The couple is looking around anxiously for their waiter. Not a good sign. Waiter finally shows and responds to them ever so briefly and asks for our order. He was not in a good mood and it was obvious, and since we had just gotten there, dressed appropriately, polite. we KNEW it wasn't us he was acting fussy about. We explained our wine situation and that we would order a bottle after trying a glass of (don't remember what). No suggestions from him but that's ok. The kids' spagetti came out with our glass of wine. Ok, maybe he thought the kids would want to eat so he brought that out first. They were done by the time we got our salads. Ordered the bottle of wine. The couple next to us is at this time obviously ticked off and still have no check. Our kid's ice cream comes out and we still haven't gotten our tri-pasta entrees yet. We mention bottle of wine again. Entrees come out, were ok, not great. ( I can make wonderful FRESH Fettucine Alfredo at home for much less but it IS a restaurant so I'm still in good mood) but still waiting for bottle of wine. We are all through with our meals, too late for a full bottle of wine, but decide we'd order one more glass and tiramisu for dessert. Waited and waited, he passed once and we flagged him down and he motioned he would be back. Finally the maitre de (sp.?) walks by and sees us looking around and asks if he can help us at which time we told him that we had wanted to order dessert. (Had decided that it was taking too long to get any vino.) He sent the girl around with the dessert tray. Were just about finished with it and our waiter (Francesco P. was his name and was so rude I will never forget his name) walked up and put the bill on our table (which we hadn't asked for yet) and he literally THREW after dinner mints onto our table and walked on without so much as a thank you, have a good evening. He was obviously ticked that we had to ask someone else for dessert. IN ALL honesty we did not ONCE do anything to make him angry, he just was. I assumed he had been in trouble with the manager, had too many tables, had someone else be rude before we came in, etc. so I wasn't going to say anything. But dd and I needed to use the restroom. When we came out to retrieve the "guys" the manager was standing there smiling and asked if we had enjoyed our meal. He shouldn't have asked. I calmly and politely explained what happened, and he apologized. I then explained that I would individually give gratuity to those who had helped us and I did. The dessert cart girl, the ones who brought us things when Francesco wasn't around, but that Francesco would get 10 cents of gratuity which is exactly what he deserved and what we left him. What the idiot didn't know was that we are normally big tippers and that even after poor service we would have left our minimum of 20% had he not THROWN mints at us for absolutely no reason. I realize people that work in restaurants or in public in general get treated poorly or jipped by some but don't take it out on all your customers. You never know, the next person, if you're friendly may make up for the tip and /or aggravation you got at the previous table.

Bravo for you on many counts! Not being intimidated into leaving an undeserved gratuity for a poor server, for letting the manager know your displeasure with the treatment you received and for making your classy statement by tipping the others. Sorry to say I'm not so very surprised by the service you received. Alfredo's is a poor restaurant on several counts. Poor quality service is a primary one.

Take care and may the rest of you dining experiences at EPCOT and WDW be much better! :)

Well...

Once upon a time, this was my favorite restaraunt in the WS> I love Chicken Parmigiana and that was what I always ordered. They used to have guys with violins who would come around and sing to you while you ate. Once , I requested they play Bella Notte from Lady & the Tramp for me, as I finished my spaghetti. They did. I was in heaven.

Now, they no longer serve Chicken parm, but have moved to more fancy, tradtional Italian food. Aside from a dish of spaghetti or a dish of Alfredo, there is nothing on the menu anymore that I , or anyone I travel with will eat. And IMO, it's just way too much to pay for a dish of pasta.

Now, I'd be more inclined to pay it, if the atmosphere was the same, and the violin guys still walked around, but last time I was there, they were not. I have heard they are gone.

I guess if you like really expensive, fancy food, you might like it, but if you are into comfort food...probably not.
