Trying to figure out AM plan for Sun. Dec. 14. We have one day park-to-park tickets.

Trying to decide if we should head straight to Gringotts at the 9:00 am opening, or should we go ahead and do RRR, Minions and maybe Transformers first, while they do not have long lines. Then go to Gringotts, because either way we are going to have a long wait.

We are US/IOA veterans, and spent 3 days there in March, so our main focus is on Diagon Alley, and would like to ride Gringotts twice that day.

Any thoughts on what our plan should be?

I was there back in Oct for a week. Twice we got up early, and were at the gates for early admission and went straight to gringotts. The first day the ride was down for nearly 4 hours, and the waits through the rest of the day were in the 75-90 min range.

The second day we got in line with a 30 min wait (RIGHT after the gates opened), but it took much closer to an hour due to the ride breaking down twice while in line.

Moral of the story here is - Gringott's doesn't care about your plans or the touring plans on various websites. It breaks down so often that it throws everything completely off.

That said, yea - the earlier the better. We had the disadvantage of Halloween Horror Nights when we were there, which meant the park closed early on those nights, so they were stopping admittance to Diagon Alley by 4pm. So there is a chance that with later hours, the line could go down towards the end f the day.

In general, earlier is better though - and you just have to hope it doesn't break down and throw a wrench in your gears.

After you ride it the first time, you may not be inclined to ride it a second time honestly. Gringott's is a great ride - don't get me wrong... but a ride like Forbidden Journey is something I wouldn't mind riding multiple times in the same day, where-as gringott's just didn't have that same feeling. Maybe I was just put off by how hard it was to try and get on the ang thing in the first place, or the expectations I had built up for it after spending months waiting to go and then be so utterly amazed by the rest of Diagon Alley.

Agree with the poster above. Unless they really figure Gringotts out, don't count on it being up and have a short line during early admission. We just kept our eye on the wait times via an app and found 30 minutes a few times. It's a cool ride, but I'd rather wait in the Forbidden Journey ride and re-ride that again and again. And, my 5 year old could have ridden flight of the hippogriff 800 times, thankfully that has Express Pass.
