Opinions from the ladies...Sparkle Techs or Running Skirts Athletic?

From someone who's thicker in the thighs and butt, but still smaller in the waist,I'm interested in knowing if either brand has a drawstring?

I bought one of the skirts without the shorts at the Tink expo from Sparkleskirts and wore it over my running pants. I enjoyed the way it covered my bigger backend and the nice little swish.

So today I ordered a skirt with the attached shorts. My hope is that it will be enough coverage for this larger than most girl for my half in DC. If it doesn't yet cover me enough then I will use it as motivation for more decreasing in size.;)

This is me. Sparkle Skirts (tech) don't have drawstrings, but they are not needed (in my case anyway). They stay up just fine. They seem to stretch where needed and hug my waist as needed. I have not tried other brands yet but have been really happy with the fit and comfort of this brand.

Nike women's half?

SkirtSports are my favorite. Their Happy Hour & Happy Girl skirts have 7-inch shorties underneath that actually stay put! The GymGirl has 5-inch shorties, but I go for the longer ones for longer runs. I got my Happy Hour skirt in 2010 and have worn it for 3-4 half marathons & the Disney full in January. I wash on delicate & air dry, but it looks brand new.

I have 2 sparkle skirts, I ordered my first for the PHM just the sparkle light for a costume effect, but liked the look while running so ordered a sparkle tech for the Indy 500 Mini in May. I've worn it on a couple of 4 mile runs (to cold out for bare legs running outside here yet) but have liked the feel on the 4 milers and love the pockets. I carry a lot of stuff on the race course (hanky, phone/camera, gels, salt, something to replace extra potassium even for this next race.) and I'm sure the pockets will hold it all!

:cheer2: My SparkleTech came in the mail yesterday :cheer2:

I love this skirt. I put it on and it did cover by bigger than most backside and looked pretty darn cute. It fit, It fit.

And boy are those pockets huge. The zippered pocket on the waistband I think could hold my kitchen sink. How does Leah do this. :confused3

I am going to look so cute the end of the month in DC.

Decided to go with the running skirts brand and I'm not sure how I feel about it. It is higher than my belly button in the front and pulls down in the back because of my big butt. This might not bother me so much if the skirt had a drawstring to keep it up. They need skirts for us ladies built like Kim and JLo.

They need running clothes period built for the athletic, thick female. I can't tell you how much I've spent on CW-X tights and they always come apart at the butt seam for me. Generally, I happen to love my booty, but this is just annoying.

For anyone who's interested, I was able to try on the Gym Girl Ultra skirt from Skirt Sports at the More/Fitness Women's Half Expo. I tried the medium at first and it seemed big on the waist again. I then tried the small and was so happy. It fit so great that I wore it today for the half. Perfect length for those of us with thicker thighs and bigger bootys, the shorts stayed down and the waist stayed up even without a drawstring. I didn't have any chafing after the race. The awesome thing is everything was 15% off for the expo and I won an extra 15% discount by spinning their prize wheel. Hope this helps anyone in the market for a good running skirt!!
