Several years ago some friends of mine found a purse in the woods. Everything was in in execpt for any cash. they called the owner and told her, even let the owner of the purse come to THEIR house to pick it up. When the women and her husband got there instead of telling them thank you and being apprieciative of getting back her pics etc, she was questioning them and looking at them like they had done something wrong. Why would they give these people their address if they had stolen it?Originally posted by powellrj
I would give it to the police and let them handle it. I found a wallet in the produce section of the grocery store one time and turned it in. Well the lady who lost it was up there reporting it missing. She then accused me of stealing her wallet. I told her that if I would of taken it why would I turn it in??? She made such a scene at the store opening it and checking things to make sure I didn't steal from her. I wouldn't call the person, just let the police handle it.
They said it was obvious by the looks of the purse that it had been in the woods for a while.

I left my bag at a Dunkin Donuts a few months ago. When I remembered that I did, it was too late. They did charge on my credit card. But I kept hoping that the bag was found with my personal belongings. (glasses, pictures, old WDW room key cards) Give the person a piece of mind at least.
I gave the purse to my neighbor, who works at a Broward Police station, she will call up the girl and let her know they have the purse.Originally posted by Poohbear123
It takes a few bad apples to make me NOT post questions on this board again.I gave the purse to my neighbor, who works at a Broward Police station, she will call up the girl and let her know they have the purse.

responses.
I am just "surprised" at how some people think thats all.

I didn't really see anyone get upset on this thread other than you. Some people were surprised at how YOU think, that's all. I for one agree with them...I don't know what would ever make you think it was ok to throw away someone else's purse. And if these kinds of responses are what make you feel like you have to be careful around here, so be it. I would much rather people tell me their honest opinion than always agree with me just because they don't like to ruffle feathers.Originally posted by Poohbear123
Its just a pain when I have to be CAREFULL how I put my words together, so as not too make some people "Upset." I asked a question and got some weirdresponses.

Instead of playing martyr, why don't you just admit that you were wrong to decide how important this woman's purse is to her? You have no right to decide what is valuable to another person.
Call the police if you don't feel like dealing with it.
