Opinion on BLT stay vs BCV

I have never stayed at either of these. We own at BLT and our first stay will be at Thanksgiving in a 2 bedroom theme park view. We don't go to WDW every year, but when we do we get an AP and try to go several times during that year. So we are planning on going again at the beginning of April. This time I reserved a 2 bedroom at the Beach Club Villas. Now I'm wondering if I chose the right DVC resort. My father will be going with us both time and has trouble walking sometimes. Advantage to me of BLT is monorail to MK and EPCOT. Advantage of Beach Club is being close to EPCOT for dining which we like. The only DVC we've stayed at is Saratoga Springs and Boardwalk as a reference. Any advice on if we've made good choices? Does one seem better than the other? Any advice or recommendations is much appreciated.

We had the same dilemma concerning our trip this past summer.

Last year, while planning, I asked the kids where they wanted to stay for our summer trip. Well DD wanted BCV & DS wanted BLT. So we did a split stay and made everybody happy!!! We had an amazing time!!

We're big fans of split stays and do them often, so it was no biggie. I actually, at the last minute, added a night on at OKW at the beginning of the trip too.

I wouldn't second guess your choice, BCV is a great location. It's as close to EPCOT as you can get without being inside the park yet for being so close to the park it is so relaxing to be out along Storm Along Bay once you leave the park. Even though you can take the monorail to EPCOT I think you'll do more walking from the monorail than you will from BCV to get inside. You have the best of both worlds with your 2 reservations, I wouldn't change.

Hmmm, my dad has trouble walking as well sometimes (bad knees - even though he's still pretty young!)... I am trying to think what I would do in your situation. If you think about it, no matter which Park you go to, there is a lot of walking. Whether you walk from BCV to Epcot thru the Int'l Gateway or walk from BLT to the MK... seems like the same distance to me (we just did both in May). But that's just to an entrance, ya know? Fact is it's Disney and you'll be on your feet all day walking around the parks.

For me the question is, which park would you rather be closest to? BLT for MK or BCV for Epcot & HS? And in terms of restaurants... are you more interested in eating at restaurants on the monorail line (BLT) or around the Boardwalk and World Showcase (BCV) areas?

Personally I would keep your reservation as is. I think the amount of walking seems about the same for both BLT & BCV, so might as well experience 2 unique resorts. Enjoy! :)

I think BCV is a good choice. You are close to EPCOT and of course the boardwalk in the evening for entertainment and dinner selection. You can take the boat to Hollywood Studios. Not sure how much difficulty your father has walking, but I think this would be a decent location.

Thanks everyone for your advice. I really appreciate your time. I am going to stay with the first reservation at BLK and the next at BCV. I feel more comfortable with the decision now. Thanks.
