Would like info from those who have stayed at Swan Royal Beach Club...is it worth it? Would you stay there again? Is the location worth it? Did you eat at the restaurants? What were the pools and hot tubs like? Is the $10.00 resort fee per person per night? This trip will be a honeymoon, no kids. We are nurses and are able to get a great discount.

:cheer2:

TIA!!!!!!

Hi tinkerrn

I think you'll love the Swan. We stayed there in June 2003 with club level (royal beach club) priviledges. We're going back to try the Dolphin this year in June.

First off the royal beach club is worth it depending on your rate. Can you tell me what your rate will be to get the royal beach club? We stayed in 2003 for $179 (plus resort fee) and had the royal beach club. At the time is was a great rate using CAA/AAA. It was definitely worth it then. It's basically a really nice/large continental breakfast in the morning and a nice snack in the evening. All the food offered is really good. Have a look at the S/D FAQ thread and look for the section Club Room Info Swan Dolphin FAQ

This year we opted not to book a club level room. We got a great rate initially for $224 CL but then changed it to a lake view room for $169. We'll have enough SPG points to upgrade us to club level when we go anyway.

The location of the resort is awesome. My DW really loves it even more so then the deluxe Disney resort locations that are on the monorail near MK. It's right beside the boardwalk, YC/BC, and Epcot and all within walking distances. You're also offered the boats to Epcot and MGM or busses to all the parks. Every night you can see the fireworks from Epcot from either your room or lying on the beach (or many other places around the resort). The location IMHO is a little more adult oriented but is definitely still Disney. With your trip and no kids it will be really nice.

There are tonnes of restaurants in this area and 17? right at the resort. All of which are great. What I can remember we at...

Tubbies (cafeteria like) was inexpensive and the pizzas are good
Palio (upscale Itailan) was really good.
The Flying Fish - a must do
Beaches and Cream - awesome hamburgers, french fries and milkshakes

and that's just 4 of what I can remember. Again have a look at the above FAQ thread for more info about restaurants.

The Swan / Dolphin Grotto pool is really really nice too. It's a 3 acre pool with a beautiful/hugh waterfall and waterslide. Truely nice and relaxing.

The $10 fee is charged per room and not per person.

Given that you are nurses, you won't find a better on site value for a deluxe resort. You will love this resort as we did too.

Regards,
Andy

I did not think it was worth paying for and was very glad I didn't pay. Club level gets you a continetal breakfast and limited evening snacks. Hours of the lounge were limited... Rooms were no different from those on the regular levels. (You did get a robe)

The hotel itself is very nice with a nice pool! I like the location and being able to walk to MGM and Epcot was great.
