I Have been religiously checking weather.com for Orlando (since I leave in three days) and they took away the Hurricane Local Update Warning! That's good news isn't it? :cool1: Keeping my fingers crossed!!

The tropical storm warning has been dropped south of Cocoa Beach. It is still in affect north along the east coast up to Titusville. Right now, Ophelia is just sort of meandering around about 80 miles off the coast. The models can't come to an agreement on what will happen. A high pressure ridge is preventing it from moving north. It can't move east because of hurricane Nate. As Nate moves away, most of the models have Ophelia moving to the north and then east. One model has it moving across Florida aroun Jacksonville. Some of the models that have Ophelia moving east then have it loop back toward Florida. It is just a wait and see at this point. Bring your umbrella!

I just want to get to WDW! Rain or shine, I do not care!! I am in DISNEY WORLD!! I am supposed to fly out of LaGuardia at 6:30 AM on Saturday and I am keeping my fingers crossed!

We really do not get too much info up here in NY. They just like to "remind us that it is still hurricane season!" Any locals with better reports, it would be greatly appreciated!!

SHOO OPHELIA SHOO!!

No, I've just heard the same reports at least 50 times today!

If you are planning on coming to FL you need to keep a close eye on the weather. They are telling everyone to keep an eye on this storm. They haven't come to any agreement about what could happen. Even all the models are all over the place. Just be prepared for lots of rain.

www.wftv.com is a great local weather station.

We are keaving in the morning!!!! And I feel the same rain or shine I just want to get there! Not having any kids with us, I will not care about rain!!! As long as they are serving those wonderful Drinks in Mexico!!! It'll be alot easier getting around in rain w/o kids!!I just want to get there and leave safely!

Me too!!! leaving Fri evening from Newark, NJ. Just hoping to get there with no problems. after that it can rain the whole week (Well, maybe not the WHOLE week!!). I'm just happy to be in Disney!!

Just 6 days for me. Come on, Ophelia, get out of the way! I want a safe, sunny WDW vacation!

We leave Oct 13. When I made the travel plans last January I just didn't give a thought to hurricane season. I'm going to be on the edge of my seat for the next few weeks. The tv remote automatically clicks on the numbers for the Weather Channel!!

Leaving tomorrow with my Wife and my 2 sons (7and 4). Looks like we are gonna get wet. :umbrella:

Don't care! Disney will still ROCK!

Everyone who is going soon, have fun, rain or shine! Everyone not going soon, NAH NAH NAH NAH! pirate:

Just kidding.

Take care all and wish me (or more importantly, my boys, it is their first time at WDW) luck that at least a couple days will be at least sorta dry.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed too. Last year we had to flee Hurricane Jeanne and I don't want to shorten my WDW trip again. But.....that's the chance we take going in Sept. :cool1:

Well we officially leave TOMORROW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!      :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:Hoping for the best!!!!!!!!!!!!

I leave Friday morning from Chicago! Rain or Shine... HERE WE COME! :umbrella:

:umbrella: Us too, we leave Manchester,NH on 9/10 at 7:30a. As long as we make it to Orlando it can rain some. I will be down in Florida who cares. We went thru Frances last year. Don't want to go thru any this year, but if I have to WDW is the place to be.

Our news this morning still said it's a wait and see. They think it's going to head north, but some of the spaghetti models have it going west across Central Fl. Current path of the storm shows it going north.

Boy, sounds like it will be crowded! We leave tommorrow, and fly out of Syracuse at 7:40. w/ ds15, dd13, ds12, and DD1. I'll be the one in the raincoat, come say hi :sunny:

Our last trip in September it rained every single day in the afternoon, but we had a great time anyway. Some sunshine would sure be nice though, especially for th waterparks. We did WS in a pouring rainstorm last time, and it was still OK, but you do miss some stuff, and sitting through the shows in damp clothes does get old after a while.

Everyting is harder with a toddler, isn't it??? We considered canceling our trip ––*I have an aversion to getting wet, including the water rides!! ––*but my folks and my brother are coming, too, and they haven't been in 15 years. Guess it'll be ponchos and 'brellas for us!

lovethattink,

You are from the Orlando area? What is the extended forcast? Is it cloudy and rainy the whole time? Tammy in Maine

ps thanks for the touring plan in the waterparks
