Operation Photopass! First trip to Disney World - TR - COMPLETED 07/16

And now I have to take a trip to Banff! Wow! Incredibly beautiful. And yay for Chili's...one of my favorite places too (love their buffalo ranch chicken sandwich)! Yum, I see a Chili's night in our future soon :)

I will have to try that sandwich next time! We don't have a Chili's in Red Deer, so we don't get it as often as I'd like. We had the sizzling fajitas again just because we loved them so much on our airport stop in Minneapolis on our WDW trip. Yum!

And you should take a trip to Banff. It is beautiful. Just make sure to book well in advance, because it is such a touristy town, hotels can book up fairly quickly. Especially condos like the ones we stayed in.

WOW, it is gorgeous there. Looks like a very fun place

I too liked seeing the people in the pool with snow covered mountains in the background :rotfl:

Those Mickey decorations were so cute!!

I loved Seth's expression seeing the aquarium. He is adorable

Also, one more thing, love that disney jacket you are wearing near the end. Did you get it at WDW?

Yeah we were some of those crazies in the pool a few times. Even though it's a little chilly, the water was still warm, so it was fun. And the view was just awesome to sit and look at.

Yes! I did get that jacket in WDW. I love it! I will post a photo of it when I show off some of the great souvenirs we picked up. But I did notice it is available on Disneystore.com. :goodvibes

yeah, you added more photos.

Love your Norway photos.

We've only eaten at Coral Reef one time but it was a very delicious lunch. Our party of 5 practically licked the plate clean! But we had the seafood with jasmine rice.

And yes, I would and did eat seafood while watching the fish swim around...and would also eat beef on a country farm or watch chickens while eating KFC! Makes the whole experience more authentic!:thumbsup2:rotfl2:

Well I was almost done posting another update, the same one that I was trying to post the other night when I accidentally closed the window, and I did the very same thing again! Ugh, Ugh, UGH!!! Well I guess I will try again tomorrow. Third time is a charm, right?

Okay I don't know how but I missed the first couple of updates of your side trip. I love that Mickey Christmas display!! I would so love to have it!!

Isn't it cute! I would love to have it too! But for $70+ per house, it would get pricey!

Well, where were we? Oh yeah, we were leaving our so-so dinner at Coral Reef, and about to head to find a good spot for Illuminations!

A big beautiful tree along the way:

As we were getting close to the World Showcase entrance, we decided to take a left and go the opposite way we went earlier in the day. We finally found an empty spot along the rail in front of Norway and China.

Now I didn't take a whole lot of photos of the show, because I really wanted to just sit and enjoy it, but I was so in awe for a lot of it, I wanted to take a few just to remember some of it. They are not the greatest photos, however.

Leave it to Disney to bring me to tears with a few pyrotechnics and fireworks! We loved the show.

After the show was over, it was time to leave the park, as it was closed for the evening.

Once we got out of the gates, we decided we weren't quite ready to go back to Pop, so we decided to take a trip over to DTD. We walked over to the buses to find out which one to take, only to find out we could have just walked over there from inside the park, but we couldn't go back through cause it was closed for the night. Figures! So we ended up hopping on a bus to Saratoga Springs resort, and then catching a DTD bus from there.

By the time we got to DTD, there was only about 45 minutes left until everything closed. We made the best the time we had and walked into the Art of Disney store where we decided to purchase our Bride and Groom Mickey ear hats. We put our order in for stitching, and they would be ready just prior to store closing. We took this time to look around a bit.

That's when I spotted these:

I so badly wanted to bring those prints home, as they weren't that expensive (to me anyways), but they would have just gotten ruined in the suitcase, so I refrained. :(

After painfully leaving the Stitch art behind, we wandered over to Earl of Sandwich, as Dillon was hungry, and he loves EoS. After waiting in line for several minutes, I realized it was almost store closing time, so I ran to the Art store to pick up our hats (pictures will be later in the TR), while Dillon ordered his food to go.

Then we hopped back on a bus to Pop where we called it a day. Oh! And I also took a photo of the art in our room that night apparently. :)

Next up: Day 4- Hollywood Studios

After 2 long park days, we decided to sleep in a little bit on this day. I was still up by 9:00 and we were out the door on the way to the buses by 10:00am.

We pulled up to Hollywood Studios in what felt like no time.

This entrance looks a little familiar....

As soon as we walked in, we took advantage of a Photopass opportunity:

We were excited to see this view:

I know a lot of people don't like it, but I thought it was cool.

After some quick photos of the hat, we looked at our map to find out where Toy Story Mania was so we could run and grab Fastpasses before they were out for the day. Or return time ended up being somewhere between 4 and 5pm.

After grabbing Fastpasses, we decided to hop onto the Great Movie Ride, as there was no line. And apparently I didn't take any photos of this ride. It was a pretty neat ride, and worth trying at least once.

Then we took a quick walk through the studios before heading over to the ToT area.

On the way to Tower of Terror, we decided to grab some lunch, as we hadn't eaten yet. Yes, we ate just before being plunged to our deaths. We are dare devils, we are.

We stopped at a place on Sunset Blvd called Fairfax Fare for some hotdogs. We used one of our QS points, and so got chips AND dessert too. Too much food!

We both got the Pulled Pork Slaw hotdog, minus the slaw for me. It was really good, but so filling. We ended up saving our chips for later. Dillon loved his carrot cake dessert, but I only had one bite of my brownie, as I was too full from the hot dog. It was good though.

After lunch, we checked our fastpasses to see the allowable time to get another one, and were excited to see we could get one for Rock'n Roller Coaster!

After we grabbed our FP's, we walked the short distance back to ToT and saw it was only a 10 minute wait, so we got we headed in. It was at this point where I found out the hard way that you aren't supposed to take pictures while walking at the same time. I walked into one of the posts separating the lines. Ouch! I had a 5 inch bruise on the side of my tummy for over a week! :( What a klutzy I am!

You can see those deadly poles in this photo:

Cool lighting. I had stopped for this photo and every one after that.

Then it was time to take our first plunge!

We love riding this ride with little ones who have never been on. It makes for great photos!

Next up: Animation Studios!

Glad you got to see Illuminations. That is my favorite fireworks show :wizard:

Those stitch photos were cute :)

Cute TOT pic. I like that guy's mickey shirt in the back :goodvibes

Love that shot of Spaceship Earth as you were leaving Epcot! So pretty :) And I think you were misinformed...you can't walk from Epcot to DTD by any means. You can walk from Epcot to Hollywood Studios and the Boardwalk, Yatch & Beach Club, Swan and Dolphin, but not DTD.

I have been struggling with a QS place to eat on our Hollywood Studios day. Everyone says there are no good options there for QS. But those hotdogs looked so yummy. I think I found a winner! Thanks :)

More great photos.......love the parting shots of Epcot!! The art store doesn't ship to Canada??? (LOL) So how close to opening were you at Hollywood Studios?? Just curious since your return time for TSMM was 4-5pm!! You are brave eating before going on ToT.......of course I don't have to worry about that since I don't ride it......:rotfl: Great ride photo......the front row seemed to be "staged" and the 2 little girls are pretty cute.

L:love:VING your report!!

Really? We asked several bus drivers about getting to DTD and they told us we had to take another resort bus cause DTD didn't have a bus from Epcot for that reason. Huh.

Yes it was very good! We went to HS a second time and couldn't find anything else appealling for QS so we ended up going back there again. Well, Dillon did.

The park had opened at 9 and we showed up about 10:15. Probably got the FPs between 10:30 and 10:45.

I should have asked about shipping to Canada, but I was afraid of another $30 fee! Haha.

It is true that there is no bus from park to park (DTD being considered a park in this). Have to go to a resort or the TTC first. We always took the bus from Epcot to Port Orleans then the boat to DTD because it was better than more buses for us. But no walking from Epcot to DTD. That would be cool though ::yes:: Or you could've walked to one of the Boardwalk Area resorts to catch a bus to DTD. Maybe that is what they were talking about :confused3

I would just like to apologize for the absence on my TR. I've just started a full time job, so it's hard to get time. I hope to do an update tonight.
