Operation Big Thunder: the Dole Whip Conspiracy COMPLETE

That's BS... it was a lie and you know it!

The Colonel will address the court as "Your Honor" or "Judge"...I'm quite certain I've earned it.

Don't think I saw this one yet...
Catch me if You can

+1:thumbsup2

I don't know if you were going for a movie reference or not, but this line made me think of the Clark Griswold monologue in Christmas Vacation when he talks about Bing Crosby tap dancing with Danny Peanut Butter Kaye. :thumbsup2

::yes::+1:thumbsup2

Thanks for the mid summer construction wall pictures! :thumbsup2 :rotfl2:

Yet another quality service I offer my readers.

Me too!

I hope Scotty likes it. :rotfl2::rotfl::lmao:

If not, I'll take his fastpass so I can ride again. :thumbsup2

Potential lie...

Just about anything is a potential lie.

I'm glad you got to experience it. Yes, it is old and my eyelids get heavy too, but it is a classic and I always get a little bit excited thinking about the history and Walt Disney's role in creating that attraction.

I can't quite confess to the same excitement or appreciation for it. But to each their own.

Hmmm... another potential lie.

But what is your guess?

Or maybe that was Julie's score... :confused3

No, I didn't share with her the locations of some of the high-value targets.

I agree with Glenn... I think it is great!!! :rotfl2::rotfl::lmao:

:headache:

I think if you told him you weren't going to have pizza or burgers for dinner, you'd get a look like that. :lmao:

Good point. Or if we told him Naked Chip & Dale weren't there today.

My guess for the lie is that David did not want to ride Space Mountain.

Duly noted.

Howdy Mark!
Not sure that Ill have time to comment on this update before you put up a new one (Ive been out of pocket for a several days and Im trying to catch up with everything else thats been going on).

You certainly have been busy. I'm glad you were able to get out of the office for a couple of days, though. That's never a bad thing.

I have read though and as usual, you tell a great story. I will take a stab at the lie while Im here. Im sorry yall couldn't ride SM, but I suspect that it was your daughter that was more interested in riding that one then either of the boys might have been.

That would be a bit subtle as fibs go, but Ive seen you be sneakier that even that so far.
:rolleyes1

True, that would be a subtle one. And I have gone in that direction before.

But here's a hint: this chapter's lie is less subtle. It's just a straight-up bold-faced lie. Well, not bold-faced in a literal sense, but you get the idea.

Bold faced you say? You know…
You’ve talked me out of good answers before.

And just for the entertainment of it, I’ll let you do it again.
Let’s go “big” in the opposite direction then (“Big Thunder” that is).

The lie: The picture of Scotty after riding BTMRR.
It’s a truly sad face, but it’s for something else. I say the Dole Whip Conspiracy worked perfectly and that all your kids now love Big Thunder.

Am I still wrong? Most likely, but that’s one of my favorite rides anywhere and I’d like to think that every young’en could enjoy himself on a good mine train type of coaster (those are what I used to teach my boy to be a coaster fan).

Ok, here's my pick for the lie...

Scotty's favorite ride is not the TTA.

Now we're getting bold. I like it! It might not be right, but I like it!

I guess I've played enough photo games that there is a growing conspiracy movement surrounding each picture. I'll just say this: that photo certainly appears to be in Frontierland.

Some of you are not going to be happy with me when I reveal the answer.

Well, my nemesis might be rubbing off on me a little bit now. I'm starting to overthink things. One of the lies I'd considered was that you didn't actually ride Carousel of Progress and this statement makes me think I might have been right.

Yes it does, and that’s why I ignored it at first.
Might be a before picture though when he realized that he had to ride because everyone else was.

Some of you are not going to be happy with me when I reveal the answer.

Not me. I’m just having fun reading along.
Go ahead and spill it. I’ve been wrong before (and often for that matter).

:woohoo: Do I get extra points for driving Andy nuts?

Ever? What are they putting in your Mickey bars?:confused3
i have always loved it, i guess it stems from growing up, my parents always took us on it a few times each trip...so sort of a sentimental ride which reminds me of all of my childhood trips.

same with captain EO, was upset when they took it away and thrilled for it to come back...we would end the day growing up just running back around and sitting through that show over and over the last few hours of the day. (pre test track and soarin days) no one was there at the end of the day so we would sit on the floor for the pre show then have open seating for the show.

alot of fun memories doing that as a kid.

I was actually able to find a DVD of the captain EO show not in 3D that you can watch, for my dads birthday a few years ago, he loved it.

So are you going with this as your final answer, then? It's fun to watch you guys flip-flop on these.

Yes it does, and that’s why I ignored it at first.
Might be a before picture though when he realized that he had to ride because everyone else was.

I suppose that could be a possibility.

I need to go back and tally the quote points and then we'll get to the matter of the big fat lie.

:woohoo: Do I get extra points for driving Andy nuts?

No points, but I'm sure you're getting some extra enjoyment out of it. And you can't put a price on that.

That's understandable. A lot of the rides have sentimental attachment for everyone, I'm sure.

But if we tour the parks together, can I have your BTMRR and Soarin' fastpasses while you go on CoP and Captain EO? Thanks. :rotfl2:

Yes, but if my original answer was actually correct I'm going to drive to Delaware and kidnap you. You'll then be forced to listen to It's a Small World the whole drive down to Hollywood Studios where we'll ride Tower of Terror nonstop from park open to park close.

On an EMH day. :rolleyes1

sure thing :thumbsup2 but for right now parker might fight you for soarin fast passes, he loved that ride we didnt risk him in captain EO this time.

I call Shotgun!

Feels like I'm a little late to this party. Oh well.

Fortunately, our family is a dictatorship (sometimes benevolent, sometimes tyrannical).
I noticed that you failed to mention exactly who held the title of Benevolent Dictator For Life. :rolleyes1

Oh, and Hi Julie!:wave2:

We set off for the east side of the park. On the way, we saw Brer Rabbit and crew having a hoe-down.
We love the hoe-down. Believe it or not, Madison danced along.

I’m sure you’re thinking that our cheese has done slid off our cracker at this point.
You should try a creamier cheese, like Bleu, Brie or Gouda. They provide better cracker adherence.

We saw most of the 999 happy haunts (the new special effects in the mirrors at the end are pretty cool) and reached daylight once again.
Disney did an amazing job with that, didn't they?

The kids loved it! Even Scotty.
:thumbsup2

Seems like whenever we get on the TTA, it suddenly hits the turbo boost and goes into ludicrous speed. Has this ever happened to any of you?
Only when I fiddle with the shutter speed on my camera.

Scotty still wasn’t quite 100%. When we rode into Space Mountain it was pitch-black, of course, and when we emerged we noticed he had reached out for a little comfort.

Now that's just too frickin' cute.

We still had time before going to infinity and beyond, so we went to another first, the Carousel of Progress. We sat back and rotated our way through a great big beautiful tomorrow. I think. I may or may not have dozed off.
Still haven't done this one. Thanks for the review.

Finally, it was time battle Zurg, so we piled into our spaceships and attempted to hit tiny targets with laser dots you can barely see while steering like a drunk in an earthquake. I had my revenge on Julie as I kicked her hindquarters.
Everyone knows is the score on TSM that really counts.

And perhaps I gloated a bit too much over my score in the game. Yes, I did save the galaxy. But it came at the price of perhaps the Worst Ride Photo Of All Time. You be the judge.
I've seen that look before. It's that "never trust a fart" look.

:rotfl:

I call Shotgun!
Well, apparently you're somewhere along the way to Delaware, so that works for me! :thumbsup2

ahh an old fashion beat down is gonna take place huh? ill call pitchfork.:thumbsup2

unless my answer is right then no pitchfork.:rotfl:
You're from Indiana so this should work too. :thumbsup2

:rotfl2::rotfl2: I will help!!!!
NC... that should be on the way down to Florida. You're in too! :thumbsup2

I guess all we need now is for Brian to join the party. We wouldn't want Mark's nemesis to miss out on the torture. :rotfl2::rotfl::lmao:

sure thing :thumbsup2 but for right now parker might fight you for soarin fast passes, he loved that ride we didnt risk him in captain EO this time.

Parker and I can hang out while you hang out with Michael Jackson. :rotfl:

What's this? You think you can intimidate the judge? That's it, then. Cancel the kitchen scraps for lepers and orphans, no more merciful beheadings, and call off Christmas!

Robin Hood, Prince of Thieves.

Feels like I'm a little late to this party. Oh well.

You know Barry. Got lost once in his own museum.

I noticed that you failed to mention exactly who held the title of Benevolent Dictator For Life. :rolleyes1

Oh, and Hi Julie!:wave2:

I figured that was implied. And I also know my place.

We love the hoe-down. Believe it or not, Madison danced along.

And Evan bodychecked Brer Rabbit.

You should try a creamier cheese, like Bleu, Brie or Gouda. They provide better cracker adherence.

You're from Wisconsin. What could you possibly know about cheese?

Disney did an amazing job with that, didn't they?

::yes::

Only when I fiddle with the shutter speed on my camera.

You were the kid in the magician's audience shouting, "It's in his sleeve!", weren't you?

Now that's just too frickin' cute.

Agreed. He loves his big sister.

Still haven't done this one. Thanks for the review.

I'm sure you'll be getting right in line, now.

Everyone knows is the score on TSM that really counts.

Not in this TR.

I've seen that look before. It's that "never trust a fart" look.

He who smelled it, dealt it!

Well, apparently you're somewhere along the way to Delaware, so that works for me! :thumbsup2

I want it on record that you're all taking care of expenses. Now that it's settled, yes, please kidnap me and take me to Disney World! :thumbsup2
