I was going to be heading to Disneyland in about a week, and even though I was just there in August, my mind is totally a blank.

What time does the security stations open up at the entrance into the park? Is it a half hour before the parks open? I keep thinking it was about a half hour before opening......

How much earlier does the Mickey and friends parking structure open up before the parks? Is it a half hour or hour before opening?

I would also love to hear during this next spring break week if they have been letting people in directly from the turnstiles, or if there has been a holding rope on Main Street, where they let people in 30 minutes before?

TIA!

The parking lot opens a hour before and the security, when I've been there, opened 30 min before. I have never seen a rope drop so don't know about that. Maybe they only do during the off season? :confused3

I think so too, since in August they never did a rope drop. I am assuming that during the busier spring break weeks they probably won't either.

The rope drop depends on opening time. When the park opens at 8am there is no rope drop...they let you in at 8am from the turnstiles but when the park opens 9am or later they let you in the turnstiles 30 min. early and allow you onto main street where they have the rope drop at opening time.

I also remember if there is MM morning madness then they don't do a rope drop as they just let the MM people in early and then let everyone else in at scheduled opening time.

Although... when we were there last year during spring break (week after Easter) and the crowds were crazy busy... MM days were 7 a.m. They opened the turnstiles at about 6:45 with a rope drop promptly at 7. I never heard of this any other time, but they did it both MMs we were there. For non MM days, they opened the turnstiles at 8 with no rope drop.

When we were there in October, not so busy... for later openings, 9 a.m., they opened turnstiles at 8:30 with rope drop at 9. MM, they just opened the turnstiles at 8, no rope drop.

Confusing! I think it just depends on how busy it is. When there's tons of people lined up before opening, I think they find it easier to do rope drop and spread the crowds a bit between the turnstiles and the top of Main street.
