Opening the gates at MK

Can anyone tell me what time the show starts for the "official" opening the gates at MK?
Does it start exactly at 9AM or do they do the show at 8:45 and then open the gates for 9AM.
I saw it last time I was at MK, but I forget what time it was at.
And what about EMH? Will they do the whole opening of the gates an hour early?

Usually about 15mins prior the will start letting people through the turnstiles into that area right before the train overpass..people are held there until the official opening number is done....after the opening family does there stuff everybody is allowed to enter Main Street

Our family opened MK in 2000. We were waiting to go in for a PS at Cindy's and a CM came up to us an 1/2 hour before opening. She asked us if we wanted to open up MK. It still is a highlight from trips past. As you look at the train station towards the castle, we were way to the left and were just sitting on benches waiting.
