Sorry, I'm going to ask a really obvious question now.

What's the benefit in booking on the first day cruises are released? Are they cheaper, and if so, are they much cheaper???

Fares are lowest when booking first opens. As staterooms fill, prices increase. There's no set rule for how much cheaper, but there was a post earlier in this thread where the price on a cruise increased a few hundred dollars during the course of one phone call from when the price was first checked to when the poster decided to book that cruise after checking prices on a few other cruises. On some of the more popular cruises, prices can increase $1000 or more in the first few days after opening.

It depends. They're cheaper if they're popular cruises. Unusual itineraries, school breaks, etc., will increase in price faster than the typical sailings in the off season. If I were looking to book a typical 3 or 4 night on the Dream or a 7 night on the Fantasy in September, I wouldn't make myself crazy with opening day booking (but room selection doesn't much matter to me). Those prices aren't likely to increase in the first few days (or hours as has been the case with some of the Magic itineraries).

So, the Costco agent somehow lost my call several times and immediately called back (while she's working on calling Disney). This last time, she hasn't called me back yet. She has my cell and my husband's cell. Is this normal? Should I worry if I don't hear from her for a while/stay on hold with her? She has all of our info.

Many people can't get through and those who have are on hold for hours

Magic 8/18/19 9C 2A2K (9,7) $8147.60 [2450 / 2450 / 1276 / 1276] no ins/trans/air/OBB. Gold booking yesterday.

Just got my quote. 3 Night Bahama cruise on Dream. 9 August 2019
S 7A 3AD $3163 (1137/1137/666) Cruise only

Just curious - do travel agents use the same phone line ... and if yes ... can I assume that they can book an unlimited amount of guests (as long they are Silver & above)?

If YES -- this really is a pretty crazy process.

1 hour and 35 minutes on hold .... 'just keep swimming' .... 'arrr smilin' ....pirate:

Different line and different agents to help them. Typically when Disney releases discounts they bring in the main team about 1 pm EST. No clue why they wait that long, but that's when the most cm's are working. Most of the time Disney will give you a 90 minute time limit to be on the phone with them. If you don't have everything done by then you will get thrown back in the queue

For us last year, it was to try and save money by getting a 7A.

FINALLY just got to listen to the inform and will be on hold for a while know.

I'm Finally listing to the DISNEY MUSIC !!!!!!!!. They just stated hold time is longer than 30 mins.

I called two minutes before closing last night, in regards to our cruise documents for an upcoming cruise (answer- should be there any day) and the cast member said today was going to be very very very busy, worse than yesterday. And it could easily be a few hours wait for people to get through. She said that they all do their best for everyone and they try to ramp up CM to cover the demand. I thanked her. Good luck to everyone!!
