Opening Date for Soarin Announced

no luck with getting a FP right now. Was supposed to go live on the 21st. I assumed as in the past that would be at midnight EST, 11pm CST, et.

I was thinking because so many people were experiencing difficulties booking the HS Dessert party these past couple of days, that maybe the site is glitchy with all these people trying at midnight tonight? Did anyone else see FP+ times show up for other rides and then next time you refreshed all FP+ times would be gone? I'm thinking the site is overwhelmed. At least I keep hitting refresh hoping that something pops up eventually.

I haven't seen anything that looks like a glitch. It just looks like the FP haven't been loaded yet. I checked earlier in the day and the site still looks the same to me. It says that Fastpasses are unavailable for Soarin'. I also see that Illuminations Fastpasses have all been distributed for the day, but Soarin' says "unavailable".

I'm so disappointed. I worked really hard to stay up this late. I guess I'll check again in the morning.

So, will this mean Epcot will be more crowded on June 17? That's our Epcot day! We won't do Soarin' (we're 15 minutes from DL and can do that here), but I'm going to be bummed if our day is packed because of this!

I would think that the Land Pavilion will be crowded, but I bet that the rest of the park won't be much more crowded than expected. Most people who are there for the Soarin' opening will be standing in a really long line.

Ok - I just got nervous to see our Epcot date become a major attraction opening! We mostly want to meet characters and eat food in World Showcase, so hopefully that will not be crazy. . Thanks!

Well, I'm by no means an expert, but I really feel that you will be okay. I will be at Epcot on June 18, so I'm going to think positively for the both of us!

I'm also curious as to how the rest of Epcot will be on June 17th. It's our scheduled day there but I'm not opposed to hopping if it's going to be a madhouse there because of all of the extra people. Between FEA possibly being opened and opening day for Soarin', I can imagine a lot of extra people being there. May have to do a morning at Epcot earlier in the week to make sure we get our other stuff done.
