Opening ceremonies?

My DW and I have heard a lot of reports about MK and DAK park opening ceremonies. I have even seen pictures of the DAK opening on All Ears. However, we have opened both parks several times this year, and have never seen either ceremony. What are we missing?

Not sure about DAK, never been there for opening...

But the MK opening show is done at 8:50am (on regular park opening days) and 7:50am (on early entry days). Not sure if you are just getting there after it is over or not... or perhaps you were coming on Early mornings in the past (they just started doing the show on EMH mornings recently so that may be why you missed it).

We've been at rope drop at AK a couple of times, the only ceremony we saw was the hordes charging the gates. It was quite like Pickett's Charge, a lot of screaming and pushing, mixed with at touch of bedlam.

You must arrive EARLY.

We have been many times and have seen these at both parks virtually every time.
That does not mean that they perform them EVERY SINGLE DAY, but the randomness of our visits in the "off-seasons" and the fact that we have seen them so often means you should be able to catch them if you always arrive at least 20-30 minutes before the posted open times (even on EMH days).

Although I have never been there to see it, the times guide lists.. DAK's opening ceremonies start at 8:55am (on regular park opening) and 7:55am on Early morning EMH...
