Ok, I'm really really not a morning person -at least not THAT early-, but after reading so much about them, you finally have my attention...
What happens at the opening ceremony at the parks? Which one is better? Hey, maybe I'll get up real early if it's worth it!!!

TIA! - leaving in 3 days!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...Cann't stop smiling!!! :cloud9:

At the MK, the Trolley Dancers come out in front of the train station and to a couple of songs and dances. The Mayor, Scoop or Hildegard MC the welcome show. Then the train comes around with about 5 or 6 characters and the chosen "First Family" to open the park. They do a countdown and the family throws confetti and streamers shoot out toward the audience. We love it. Get there by about 8:40 for the opening. :sunny:

The opening ceremonies happen at the park entrances. I saw the openings for MK, Epcot, and AK. The MK opening ceremony is fun and the most elaborate of the three that I saw. It ends with "cannons" shooting streamers and confetti over the guests as the park officially opens.

At Epcot, the characters pull up in a double decker bus and dance to some music. Representatives from the various Future World attractions also appear and escort guests to the rides.

The AK ceremony is similar to the one at Epcot. The characters pull up in a truck and Mickey welcomes the guests to the park.

If you don't like getting up early, then I would definitely pass on the openings at Epcot and AK since they are not really memorable.

To me the only good thing about these opening ceremonies is that the park opens. I could do without all of them.
