Opening a Wine Bottle in Epcot

I'd bring in a sac of 12 year old Balvenie and get lit on that. You are drinkers as you've said.

What are the two that charge a corkage fee? Is it clearly articulated somewhere online that the resort restaurants do not?
Orlando Business Journal surveyed the city's most expensive restaurants to determine their corkage policy. Only two, Dux at the Peabody Orlando and Narcoossee's at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort, have a flat, no-corkage policy . . . the restaurant manager makes the decision on whether or not to allow individuals to bring their own wine . . . The rest charge fees ranging from $10 to $28 per bottle, and most restrict patrons to bringing wines not on the restaurants' own wine list. Walt Disney World's policy is to leave the decision up to the individual restaurant manager, with a standard fee of $25 for those who allow it.

. . . Double Wood, I presume?

It's always been my understanding that all Disney parks have a "no glass containers" rule in place...therefore all liquor purchases made inside the park must be picked up outside the gates on the way out.
We were able to take our purchases from the F&W Festival Center. We had a bottle of wine, a bottle of rum and a one more bottle. They were all wrapped in paper, then put into a box with a seal on both ends.

1) Yep.
2) Disney has lots of Rules.
3) And, Rules-is-Rules.
4) Until they have a chance at interfering with sales and profits.

Yep! I have an excel file that I keep adding to every trip. It's a savings/dining memorial of how much money we have spent at Disney. (We probably could have bought a modest house in TX) I looked back to that tab and it was actually $358 that we saved. They have a lovely wine list but it is pricey. With the wines that we knew and liked, the average price was about $50 to $60 a bottle on the lowest end. I knew down to the penny how much it was all going to cost. Disney weddings can "appear" a good deal with the lower packages, but adding everything up including photography, hotel, park tickets, etc. it adds up quick. Especially with this crowd of lushes we travel with!

I don't mind spending money when quality is delivered, but I really hate paying more than I know something is worth. Especially a 300% markup. It just kills me. Give me a glass of wine and then I forget...

Didn't you pay a 600% markup for that $5 bottle of wine? That is crazy!!!

I think you would be hard pressed to find those $5 bottles of wine on the menu at Citricos but then again, I wouldn't think to look. Usually mark up for places is no more than 3 times with higher priced wines being between 2-3 times. We routinely bring our own bottle of wine, but I usually bring a good bottle that would be well over $400/bottle on the menu. The $25 corkage fee is not really an issue then as I am still way ahead and I had a great bottle of wine for dinner.

Don't know if it helps and maybe things have changed since June of this year but I bought wine two different days in Italy and France and was able to carry it out the door both days. It does get heavy lugging around World Showcase for an hour.

We were able to take our purchases from the F&W Festival Center. We had a bottle of wine, a bottle of rum and a one more bottle. They were all wrapped in paper, then put into a box with a seal on both ends.

And we were not allowed to take our purchases with us last week. We had to have our bottles sent to the gift shop for pick up later. Not allowed to take it with us, I asked as we weren't planning on staying 3 hours at that moment. I always assumed it was due to the no glass in the park policy since they clearly have no issues with drinking ;)

We just had to make plans to pick it up later on the way back out of the park the 2nd time that day

I'd guess the rule is likely you can not take it with you and those that do are from CM error/lack of clear knowledge on policy. So probably best to not plan to carry it out, period.
