We have found it very useful for loading Disney gift cards that we purchase at various places. We buy the gift cards with credit cards that earn 5 miles/points per dollar throughout the year depending on where the bonus category is for that month. Then, load all of the cards on the Disney account and get back $20 in a Disney gift card for every $1k we spend! Love it!

Just be aware that you can't use for purchases in the park (not even tickets) or for room charges. You can use it for packages and tickets online or over the phone.

I pre-paid my room only stay over the phone using DVA.

I opened one a while back just to help save for my DD's park ticket. I have like next to nothing going into it every payday. We will be staying off property for my next trip and she may not be able to come with marching band. So just in case she is able to it wont be an issue
