Open Mike Night - Everyone is Welcome

Do I need to put somebody in a time out?!? :rotfl:

Geesh!

Well, we had a great turnout for my Grandma's 100th birthday party. All 13 of us cousins were there - gathered for the first time in many, many years. So of course we had to have a bunch of photos taken. Lots of extended family too. I had no clue who many of them were :confused3 Grandma was pretty tuckered out from all that excitement, but she enjoyed getting so many cards.

Hope everyone has a relaxing Sunday evening before getting back to the grind tomorrow.

Wonder what Twink and Nab were up to today!

Yes, I know how it is pronounced. I have heard of the woman. And I guess you're saying that I'm wholesome and out of fashion. If so, thanks. That would be a compliment. It was clear from a number of your comments, and tone, and the little remarks in your edit lines, that your comment was not meant in a kindly fashion. Everyone else took it in the same vein, and that's why you were asked if you had had a bad day, or your team lost etc. You replied to the effect that you were just being your normal crabby self. I have no problem with your being crabby, just do it on your own time with your own family. I come her to relax and enjoy other people and have a smile or two. I would cut out my own heart before I would intentionally hurt someone else's feelings. It's a pity there aren't more wholesomely out of fashion people like that.

I don't know who you are. But, I do know that you should stop. Good day.

It's so nice you could all get together. I'm glad you had a nice time. Usually the only time you get so many family members together is at a funeral, so it's great that you were able to have a party while your grandmother was still alive.

I rocked at my lesson!!!!!

It went smoothly. I used to not feel comfortable teaching. Now, I really love it!!!!

I found a fun niche. I find it a little off-putting that these 16 & 17 year old girls actually listen to everything I say. I wouldn't say they look up to me, well, maybe they do a little. But they do participate nicely and listen attentively. Bless their hearts!

I bribe them with treats. It's my thang.

Moo, happy you had such a nice party!

Twinkie weather report: Sunny, clear blue skies, kind of nippy and windy though. But still nice to be out if properly dressed. No worries about getter Twinkerbell out of the pool, too cold for that.
Bad news, its supposed to get colder and rainy the rest of the week.

Thanks, Kay! It was very nice. I think it must have been at a funeral when we had last had that many people together. Everybody was surprisingly cordial - including the ones who are usually kind of snarky. This party brought out more relatives than her 90th birthday party. I still remember being disappointed that some of my cousins were no-shows. Particularly the local ones.

Uma, if you are anything IRL like you are on the DIS (which I'm sure you must be), you should not be surprised that the girls love having you as their teacher!!! Plus, EVERYTHING goes more smoothly when treats are involved.

I was wondering how it went. Don't underestimate your ability to make a lasting impression on these girls. I had a teacher in my early teens who also taught youth group, and she was a wonderful role model. I still see her from time to time, and she is a super person that I will always respect. When I was in my 20s I used to teach Sunday School and enjoyed it. When my first husband was alive, we both led the youth group. I hope in some small way we made the same kind of lasting impression on the young people as my teacher did with me.

Good thing you are not near me, Moo! I dont care about food, but don't come between me and my adult beverages!!!!!!!1:drinking1

Oh, I forgot to mention, DD's new BF stopped by today. They are currently snuggling on the couch  ,watching a TIVO of AI. My son is sitting next to them, LOL.

He seems nice enough, certainly hunky!

Marita- that there looks somewhat like a diet Pepsi. Do you wild and add a little cherry syrup?

I have a hunky boyfriend!!!! We dont exactly snuggle on the couch anymore, though! He works at night so my dinners have become less and less impressive. Tonight's curly fries and chiken strips. Probably, I should add a food group to that.

There is a terrible dearth of adult beverage smilies on the DIS. Guess they are trying to keep it family friendly!

Just be careful with the Brain Cell Euthenasia :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Kay, I read your trippie, I am fully unboard with that. Millions of weak cells to be killed.

Just think, we East Coasters could make dinner and send our leftovers by Air Express just in time for Wendy's dinner, three hours later. :rotfl2:

I am now reminded, again that, I am soooo glad we are not married.
