Open Mike Night - Everyone is Welcome

Kimmie! So happy to see ya! Thanks for commenting on my TR! I'm behind in my responses and wanted to say hi to you there BUT then I have a brazillion more to do. ONE more chapter! I leave for a Crazy Road Trip To DIsneyland in 15 days. So It'll be done by then. I'm totally dragging my feet though. It's soooo sad ending it!

Sorry y'all are sickies at your house! Hope everyone's up-and-atom (upinatom) soon(ly).

by the way....I really miss you!

Playing cards, dising and watching Bill O'Reilly talk about Anna Nicole. It doesn't get any better than this. Well, I could go for a cigar.

I'm glad all is right in WheatThins universe.

Just some random thoughts...

Pongo, that is an absolutely inhumane amount of snow!

Welcome Babynurse! I'm new here, too. I'm guessing you hang in the NICU. If I'm a good guesser, let me say that you Babynurse types have my eternal respect and gratitude. Bunny (my dd now 7) did some time in the NICU, and I mostly hung around and cried the whole time b/c I couldn't hold her (phototherapy) or nurse her (uncooperative physiology). But all the Babynurses were very kind and patient with me.

What else...? Bunny is still sick, hasn't eaten anything but a few crackers (yes, they WERE Wheat Thins) and some water.

My washer still leaks. This makes me very unhappy. Also crabby.

Oh the Combi stroller. Sheesh, that brought back memories. Anyone here ever heard of Epinions.com? Used to be a really great website for consumer reviews and where you could write review and actually make a little money doing it. That's all changed now, unfortunately. But back in the good old days I earned $44.03 (over time) for my review of the old Combi Perfect Match Stroller. Ha! I just checked it out and my ancient review is still up. I'd forgotten that I referred to Bunny as "Bunny" even back then! What a blast from the past. I'd post a link to that review, but that would get me in big ginormous trouble, wouldn't it?

Wouldn't it be awesome if someone would pay us to do Dis reviews? Even piddly little spare change amounts, much like the PDNQ game (which I'm gonna have to try with Bunny, btw, cause it sounds like fun) or Epinions used to. (sigh) I can dream, can't I?:cloud9:

You betcha.

Is the suspense killing you? Are you an immediate gratification type guy?

Look, I'm somewhere between Roseanne Barr and Cindy Crawford. Does that help?:rotfl:

I gotta tell y'all something cute and funny!

Just skip, if you dont "do" cute or funny:

Norah (my 2 year old for the off-chance anyone doesn't know her by now) can climb out of her crib. So for her safety, I removed the one rail and it's a "day bed" now. She gets out alot. And is creative for the reasoning too. SOOOO, a few minutes ago, she came slowly into the kitchen with a blanket covering her whispering, "WoOooOOoo"... so I said in a semi-loud voice:
"OH ! A GHOST! I'm scared!" which FREAKED her out. :scared1: She wipped off the blaket and looked around for the ghost and then ran to me all skeered!!!! I was totally laughing so hard, NO sound was coming out!!!

Good night! I'll watch Grey's tomarrow, so no-one ruin it for me!

Wheat Thins, are you most like Alan Shore of Boston Legal or Dr. House on House or Jack Bauer of 24? Dont ask why.

Hi Bunny, nice to meet you. You are too kind!

Look, WT, someone else likes me. Go figure.:confused3

I do cute and funny!!:rotfl: :rotfl:

So, you don't want to know that Dr. McDreamy was killed off tonight?:confused3 ....joking, of course

I love Alan Shore's wit and smugness.

This is just hilarious! I can totally see it in my mind's eye. Guess she forgot she was the ghost...it's so funny how you get little glimpses into how their minds work sometimes. I think Bunny and Norah are two little peeps in a pod.

Bunny got a new Quest kids' Bible for one of her birthday presents and she has been reading the questions and answers parts of it and regaling me with fascinating information prefaced by, "I'll bet you didn't know THIS..."

Well, she had an interesting explanation for her recent bout with the throw-ups..."Mommy, I think I know why I'm throw-upping...maybe I'm going to have a baby!" I told her I didn't think so, that children don't have babies and besides "you have to be married first", I threw in. :rolleyes1

She was undeterred. "Well, maybe it's a miracle!"

Bunnysmum- Did I tell you I just love your TR? How about today, did I? It is really good! Bunny is the best kid! I do want her to have a Royal Princess Meltdown so I dont feel all alone with Norah's Flippy Fitz.

Just Kidding. I dont wish that type of thing for you at all. Just entertains me when it's , for once, not mine!

Baby Nurse- you've done all right~ I'm really glad you been around to "play". We've taken a liking to you! I love that you teach prenatal classes. It paints the picture of you in my head in a nice way.

Celery- Are you still there? Good Luck with your surgery tomarrow! And your new beginning!

I reread Bunny's post and just wanted to say that I don't actually work in the NICU. I work in the newborn nursery (but MOSTLY well babies) and postpartum. I also teach childbirth class.

We do have sick babies, but if they get TOO sick we ship them to Louisville.

UM, you did tell me, but please, feel free to repeat yourself whenever the urge strikes!

Oh, the royal Princess Meltdown? Not to worry, it is most definitely coming up. On day 5 of our trip, I believe, just prior to the Princess Storybook Breakfast at Akershus. It was just UGLY! People kept drifting far away from us at the POR bus stop, and I expected children's protective services to be called at any moment, JUST because Bunny yelled in a panicked scream, "What are you going to do to me?" every time I even approached her. As if!!

This is the aftermath, which was about 30 minutes or so after the worst of it, and it still ain't lookin' very pretty. I'm fairly certain this was the most unhappy child in all of Epcot that day...

Two Peeps in a pod all right! Norah is a few years behind Bunny, but still. I love all the things my kids say to me

OH! One more....sorry! Riley, my 6 year old, is telling me about Habraham Blinkin, one of the Presidents celebrated on Presidents Day later this month.

Ask TwinkieMama to share her "Manna from Heaven" story with you, if you ever are around at the same time as she. It's a good one too.

Edited to add- I didnt notice the sadbunny face before I posted this! awwww, poor little thing! We totally take pictures of the tantrums and sad faces too. It works! In public, so people will know what a great mother I am, I'll say, "Baby, scream louder! Kick harder!" of my favorite, "WHO are YOU???" and keep walking.... I love to be "tsk-tsk'd" by little old lady's who "prolly" spanked.!

Duly noted, but still appreciate you all the same! Do you ship Priority or UPS?:rotfl:

I love this! :lmao: Now see, THIS is why I wanted children. ;)

Of course, you know all about Martin Lucy King, whose holiday we recently celebrated, too, right? He/She is one of Bunny's favs.

Hey, let me talk too. I will tell you about the time I was arrested while on Spring Break. Not a cute kid story but I bet you will find it interesting too.
